Birkdale Golf Club

Have played this course many times over recent years and always liked it but they currently have a rot going on that we did not find out about until we got there. It was on almost all the greens and there is a temporary green on the 17th hole in the fairway. Just writing this so someone else can see this before going.

Greens in poor condition. Pace very slow last 9 holes. (No Marshall observed on course) Children fishing at water obstacles. (Safety) Residents walking dogs on cart paths. (Safety)

I usually enjoy this track, but, in the two weeks since I was last here, the greens have dried up something terrible. Good thing I got a deal on the fees. See you guys later in the year.

Staff and management here are top notch. Side note their seasoned fries they have ready to go in proshop are dangerously good.

I don’t know what’s going on here…There isn’t one good green on the entire course and we had to pay 68.00. All they gave us was a bag of 15 golf balls, no discount on greens fee. Don’t waste your time or money until the greens are back.

Greens are dirt and sand with small patches of grass. Tee boxes are dying too. Can’t believe they charged $76 for a round. Save your money and go somewhere else!

The greens were tore up. Barely have any grass. Backed up 4 deep on one Par 3 due to the maintenance guy watering the green.

Fairway and the course layout is great.

Greens were in poor shape, making putting very much hit or miss.

Greens were in horrible shape with brown spots and sand over most of them and not much grass on them.

Also - several holes have temporary tees that have been there for several weeks creating some really short holes including a 424 yd par 5. When is this going to get fixed?

All 18 holes it was no grass on the grass all the greens was sand..even the tee box was no grass.. I wasted my money on this course. And the people at the clubhouse didn’t say anything about how bad the greens were.. I wish I could get my money back.. I think they should close this course down until they can fix those greens

Long time player here. Course is in horrible shape. Fairways washed out, greens are terrible. Unsure how management can sleep a night charging the current rates. Terrible- will never be back

Course has really had a turnaround this out unfortunately they've lost most of the greens. It.halpens and once they get them back it.will be an awesome track.

Generally, this course is decent. Today, was below mediocre at best. 5 holes in a row there was a guy water the greens and even parked his cart ON the green while we were teeing off! My group told the staff, they did seemingly nothing. Greens are in terrible shape, and if you’re familiar with windy hill, the greens are better there! That isn’t a compliment, considering windy hill is a $25 course. I want my money back, as this was absolutely embarrassing, and truly poor conditions. Worst I’ve seen this course in the past 3 years. Photos attached, there are two similar, where I teed off a great shot, and the jack wagon literally started water my ball…. Pathetic.

Played the course 2 weeks ago and all the greens were sanded. Nice but sanded.

Today the greens were all but gone... Bare and crunchy.. Someone must of really messed up?

It’s a fun course good price pace of play is pretty good, however they really need to fix the greens putting is terrible and people rarely fix their divots other than that it’s awesome

Dirt greens and tees, clay and water in the bunkers- Stay away. They still charge full rates for second rate conditions.

The greens are some of the worst I've ever played. Fungus all over the greens, massive divots from unrepaired ball marks, and extremely inconsistent from one hole to the next. I will not be playing here again.
