Not Impressed
Played this course for the first time today. Not impressed. It was like being in a time machine dialed back to 1975. Golf carts were full of trash. Tears in the seats and no rain guards for your clubs. Staff was rude. Prices to high for the condition of the course. And there is geese feces everywhere. The hardest thing was finding a place on the tee box to stand without getting feces all over your shoes. Might have been a nice course in 1975 but there are so many other courses to play in Jacksonville that are more up to date and fun to play. I wouldn't play it again if it was free.
Challenging and Fun
Course is tight but fair. Great golf and this course makes for a great day of golf. Drives must be accurate.
nice course
The course was great for what I needed, a tune up for a tournament. It presented the opportunity to use most of the clubs in my bag during the round.
Excellent
Excellent course ..... beautifully laid out, amazingly difficult greens (in a good way), and challenging to an intermediate and good golfers . We will definitely play it again on our next vacation in Jacksonville!!
Great Golf Course
I'm a newbie to the game so as you can imagine I was a bit nervous playing a full 18 course for the first time. Right from the get go the staff was welcoming. Made me feel right at home. The course was top notch. Keep in mind it's winter time so expected to see a lot of yellow grass and dry areas. Course was green everywhere. Well maintained on every hole. Our golf cart did run out of juice on hole 13 haha. Called the club house for some help and in 7 mins they came to the rescue with a new cart. Overall had an awesome time and will definitely recommend this course to family and friends. I myself will be playing more rounds here. Keep up the good work Windsor Staff!!
Good layout
Greens need a little work. Long wait at bar after nine holes were played. Beverage cart came by at hole 2 and never was seen again.
Fun Course
This is a great course for the moderate golfer. If you player 3/4 times a week you might want something more challenging, but still worth trying. Staff are very friendly.
Great course
Second time playing the course. Both times booked with last minute golfer. I'm only visiting the Jacksonville area and when I come again I will definitely consider playing this course again.
Good experience
Course is not overly challenging, but a good track for most players. Staff is friendly and courteous. We play here occasionally and always find it in good condition.
Tee boxes were worn out
Fairways, greens and bunkers were in great shape. All of the tee boxes were worn down to the dirt... Very surprised
course in good shape
greens a little sandy and grainy looks like they sanded greens couple weeks ago but they were ok. course is always above average shape. hole number 3 is a lot better then it used to be they changed green and cut some trees down.challenging course rest of way, it was fun.
Loved the lay of the fairways?
I liked the layout of the course. The scenery was great. The greens were slower than we are custom too and caused several short puts. The pace was great. No waiting! Nice course!
Still in recovery
I'd heard course conditions had improved so I decided to head back out to Windsor. While the tees, fairways, and rough I would give a B or B+ for the majority of the course, the greens are in bad shape - a D or C- at best in most cases, a few Fs. Lots of sand on the greens, lots of bare patches, lots of cases where making a putt is more about dumb luck than skill because they will not roll true. Not sure the cause outside of the volume of play the course gets, but the greens need help, especially hole 1. Pace on a Friday afternoon was great - teed off around 12:30 and finished before 4:00
Disappointed
Disappointed that the golf pro would not issue a rain check. I had to end my round early due to a family crisis unfortunately, the golf pro reasoned that because my rate was already a golfnow low rate that it equalled a 9 hole rate. The pro never even asked why I even needed a rain check. Moving to Jacksonville and still looking for a course to be a member.
Lots of Potential
Very wet after recent storms. Cart path only. Greens needed some work but rolled fairly true. 18 was a very disappointing finishing hole but 17 made up for it.Very tough pin placements across the board. Staff was very accommodating and beverage cart "Stevie" was great. Will definitely go back but will need to find a discount as price again (paid $53) as full rate not justified until greens improve.
Fun Course
Staff was very accommodating from the starters to the pro shop.
Fun course to play - some tight holes - no need for driver on most of them.
Solid
Course is always solid. Greens aren't great but not terrible. Lots of discoloration but roll pretty true. Played after a long week of rain and fairways were all in great shape. Overall a decent course with a friendly staff.
Nice value for the $$
Nice course and reasonably priced. Surprisingly great condition given all the recent rain!
not bad at all
Confused about the bad rating, but definitely deserves a fair rating, not a disgruntled one (doubles will do that).
Layout was fine, not super challenging but not a resort course either. Definitely some instances where shot shaping is required for aggressive tee shots.
Pace of play was a little slow, (hackers in group ahead) but not because of mismanaged tee-times. Ranger expedited things up when needed.
Greens were in good shape and rolled true. Fairways were good (a couple trouble spots here and there) but nothing terrible and very minimal. Tee boxes were ok, some could use a little work but was more to do with the markers needing to be moved. (Looked like 2 to 3 days of play at those markers). Worst part was the cart paths, but if you complain about that then quit golf.
Fairways and Greens to you all!
Never again
I expected more from an AH facility. Front 9 layout horrible, with the back 9 a bit better layout. Overall pace of play might be the slowest I've ever experienced, combined with poor course conditions made this an overall mistake. Never again.
