Fun Course
I have played this course a few times. Overall a good course. Was in better condition this time than prior.
Great local course & value
Windsor Parke has continued to be a great value and fun to play. With different friends I play this course a number of times each year. The greens are in good shape for the most part. They roll great. So you should not have any gripes about putting. It is a great 3 1/2 hours for a couple friends to play golf.
Best value around
I play this course quite often. Maybe 20 times per year. When the greens are good, it's as good a course (public) as there is in NEFL. It's in very good shape right now (just played agin today!).
Enjoyable round!
Course was in good shape. Overcast and a bit windy but it kept the heat index down for an enjoyable afternoon round in mid-August.
Walt in the clubhouse was very helpful and friendly. Our foursome will be back.
Friendly
Great people and nice layout. Pace of play needs to be monitored closer. Over 4 hours on a Wednesday morning is too slow. Great course layout and we'll take. Care of!
Always a consistently good course
I can always count on Windsor to be in good shape and a fun course to play.
Hot and Muggy, but a fun round
Enjoyable day on the course, despite the hot, muggy weather. Course was in very nice shape, just a few greens with active repair work.
Very well manacured greens.
Not a bad course. For $10-15 more, and a little drive you can play better courses. If you have your heart set on playing by the beaches this is the best one for the money. The no golf carts in the parking lot, so that you have to tip a guy to clean your clubs is kind of lame.
Greens not in good shape
This is the 2nd time I have played here, hoping it would be different than the recently airated conditions I played in last time (which they did not tell me about). The greens were only marginally better. For nearly $50 I would expect MUCH better conditions. Save your money and play at the Champions Club, Cimarrone or some of the various other $20-$30 place range courses in Jax. No excuse for the bad conditions of the course when we have had such good weather that promotes good conditions. Nearly every green had patches of sod and multiple dead and sandy spots. Disappointed.
18 Holes
Got a good price on Golfnow.Group in front of us was slow so had to wait for every shot but took 4 hrs to play.Alot of the greens have bad spots on them but they didn't affect any of my shots during the round.Would play again if I got another deal on Golfnow.Make sure to bring water. Not alot available on course but cart girl was around alot.
course advisor problem
We were actually two groups a foursome and a threesome.
When our first group (foursome) teed off on the par five first hole. No one was on the hole. On the par 4 second hole with all of us at our drives. The course advisor rode up and told us we had to catch the group in front of us. He also insulted us saying there were good players coming behind us (so what).
Obviously if you start on a par five and no one is on the hole. The group ahead of us was at the very least play the par four hole in front of us.
I believe it takes a group more shots to play a par five then it takes to play a par.
Reasonably speaking catching the group in front of us by the second hole was a ridiculous request on his part. Our other group said he was hassling them as well
On the 7th hole he drives up and says he appreciates us speeding up. I told him we didn't and that we didn't appreciate being hassled.
The people with me were all from out of town for my daughters wedding. I can assure you they were extremely upset.
I'll never go back and will tell everyone I know not to go there.
Solid facility
Real nice layout and place. Needs a little tlc. Kind of surprised after it constantly raining that it was so dry and lots of dead spots. But other than a green or two, every one was just fine. I would recommend the course no doubt. I play around the world and this may be the best ranger presence I've ever seen on a course. They were great
Greens still need work
This is a nice layout, some good risk reward shots. The only down side is the greens have many patches of no grass. You would think they would lower their rate a little for those kind of conditions.
Always a favorite but could be better with a price adjustment
A good course with a nice layout. Happens to be close to my home so it's convenient for me. Plenty of water along with many bunkers make this course a little challenging. Played it in a little over 4 hours but rather it would have been faster play which would have made the pace better and a little more enjoyable.
Not Average
The worst round of golf I've played in many moons, but, I can't blame it on the golf course. The course was in very good condition except for a few bad spots on 3 or 4 greens.
This course is one of the very few in N.E. Florida that requires/encourages you to hit driver from the tee box into fairly narrow fairways on most par 4s and 5s.
I'll sum it up by saying it's more than challenging for the average duffer like me.
greens
Greens need improvement!! Six greens were good, six had bare patches, and six had alot of bare patches. Fareways were good.
Great layout greens coming back nicely
When i last played this once excellent course it was in bad shape all of the greens were ridden with disease...The good news is one year later the greens and course have obviously had some excellent work done and all but 2 of the greens are back to excellent and rolling true. The other 2 need some more time and work but are also recovering. Course could use some work on the traps, most are in need of sand. Overall the course is making a nice comeback and definetly worth the trip!!!
Rough
The greens were in terrible condition and for the price they charged I feel I could of played a much better course for less! Would not play there again
