Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Bring Water With You!!!
I like this course as it's a great blend of challenge and comfort holes (where you can just 'swing away'). Fun layout, great condition, longer round than I'd like (4:45) but no complaints for a resort course. Two "Suggestions for improvments". 1) I made the mistake of taking only one bottle of water with me because I was informed there would be water/ice dispensers on the course. There was but they were not working. ;-(. And we saw the Drink-Cart only twice during 18 holes so it made it a challenge to stay hydrated on a hot day. 2) I signed up as a single player but showed up a 2 hours early, thinking there might be a cancellation opportunity. I was informed that there was not a system or waiting list for singles because there was no way to contact me on the driving range, etc. I was advised to sit by the check-in stand if I wanted to jump on as a single. Needless to say, I did not sit for two hours so I waited for my actual tee-time. (I know - first world problem - don't judge me). This was odd to me because most resort/great courses have this kind of tee-time flexibility built into their on-site processes, but this particular Disney course (or all of them?) seem a bit out of step. Most guys are carrying radios so this really shouldn't be a difficult thing to implement. . . . .OR . . . maybe join the 21st Century and use phone texts. ;-)
Course has seen better days
I have played this course several times over the past many years. This particular time I played it, the course conditions were not that great. They are having some time of wildlife digging up the course. I actually stepped in a rodent hole on my way to the putting green and rolled my ankle. The rough areas definitely need some work. Bare spots, mud, wash out and animal holes are abound. The bunkers were very inconsistent with most of them have too much sand and none of them being raked properly. That's more of the people playing it versus the staff. The greens were pretty decent running around 10. The tee boxes can definitely use some work. The fairways also were not in good shape. For less money I recommend Orange County National or Celebration. Too much money to play the Disney Course for the conditions being offered. i
Don’t waste your money
This course is not worth the money. Course conditions were terrible the pace of play was 5 hours! No ranger to move play along.
Cart girl was seen once in 18 holes
People, People, People - Please!
Great course - but some placed people don't rake anymore. They don't fix ball marks. They play slow. They don't care about the people around them. The best courses fight back and don't accept that behavior. Others throw up their hands and live with it. This course has decided that slow play, unraked traps, pocked up greens, and rude people are acceptable - so that's what you get.
Good course but expensive
Course conditions were acceptable. The greens were pretty quick and smooth. The tee boxes were pretty beat though. The fairways and rough were OK but could use some work. Given the amount of play the course gets and COVID, I think overall the course conditions were very good. The cost of the course are not out of alignment with other courses in the area but Orange County National is a much better course for $50 less. The pace of play was very good and the rangers were very friendly and moved the people around. My biggest knock against the course was the 19th hole ad beverage cart access. We saw the beverage cart only twice and there is no 19th hole without having to go to the Palm course restaurant which is not a short walk. We ended going to an off property location to eat and drink.
Very good course
Had an amazing round. Great friendly staff. Great pace of play. Had to wait on one par three as expected other than that seemed like we were the only ones on the course. Not maintained to the pga tour standards would have been back in 2012 when it was last played but very well maintained technical course. Greens were a little slower than I would have hoped in 70* weather. If you have the money to spend and want the Disney experience go for it but if you forget that it was a pga stop 10 yrs ago and aren’t in it for it being the Disney name you can play plenty of on par courses for 30-50% less a round.
Staff was very friendly, made it a pleasant experience. Bruce the starter was awesome!! Pace if play slowed on the back
Beverage cart lady was very nice but didn't see her alot. Great experience.
