Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Cream of the crop
1st time here and will definitely be back!! Staff was incredible. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. Carts were unbelievable!! Comfort, GPS, and fast. Pace of play was perfect. They certainly know what they're doing.
Mr. Winston
A must play course whenever in Florida. Everything you would expect from a Disney course.
Good golf
We played Magnolia on an 86 degree day with a nice breeze. The course has beautiful views and a Mickey Mouse sandpit. Course is in good shape…wide fairways pretty straight forward greens. Three Disney courses share the same pro shop and facilities. Bathrooms and locker room are nice and clean. One negative thing - there’s not a grill …a nice indoor restaurant. Very cool Mickey Mouse golf cart in the front for pictures.
Underwhelming Course
Very friendly staff, nice facilities and good pace of play, but I expected more from the course. It was okay, but nothing special.
Way overpriced
Played the course in a twilight rate and managed 15 holes before light ran out. Would have managed all 18 if there were any course rangers to gee up the group in front as they had lost a good few holes on the ones in front. Like all the Disney courses the Magnolia is way, way overpriced, it's a decent enough course in reasonable condition but put it outside of Disneyworld and it would be a third of the price which is what it's worth. The staff are always great and friendly but don't expect anything special from the course.
Our favorite Disney golf course
Friendliest staff, very helpful, beautiful layout, the greens were in good shape and well protected with sand traps, some tee boxes were rough due to the high traffic. We love the mouse trap.
02/22/2022 at 2:22pm on the no: 2 hole
Pace of pace for the back nine was slow slay but in all we played in 4:12
great day of golf
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The course was in great winter conditions and provided enough challenges to make it interesting.
the wind
nice course a little longer and more difficult than the palm.it seemed every long par four we came to was straight into the wind.
Bring Water With You!!!
I like this course as it's a great blend of challenge and comfort holes (where you can just 'swing away'). Fun layout, great condition, longer round than I'd like (4:45) but no complaints for a resort course. Two "Suggestions for improvments". 1) I made the mistake of taking only one bottle of water with me because I was informed there would be water/ice dispensers on the course. There was but they were not working. ;-(. And we saw the Drink-Cart only twice during 18 holes so it made it a challenge to stay hydrated on a hot day. 2) I signed up as a single player but showed up a 2 hours early, thinking there might be a cancellation opportunity. I was informed that there was not a system or waiting list for singles because there was no way to contact me on the driving range, etc. I was advised to sit by the check-in stand if I wanted to jump on as a single. Needless to say, I did not sit for two hours so I waited for my actual tee-time. (I know - first world problem - don't judge me). This was odd to me because most resort/great courses have this kind of tee-time flexibility built into their on-site processes, but this particular Disney course (or all of them?) seem a bit out of step. Most guys are carrying radios so this really shouldn't be a difficult thing to implement. . . . .OR . . . maybe join the 21st Century and use phone texts. ;-)
