Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Unfortunately, there has been so much rain that cart path only was the rule of the day. To the credit of the staff, they permitted you two play two holes and decide if you wanted to continue on, or go back for a full refund. We continued on. Disney courses and staff are always top notch. Never pass on an opportunity to play one.
Awesome!!!...I had a great time in Disney Magnolia Golf Course. Best!!
Good but not Great
Enjoyed our game at Magnolia where everything is in good shape. Nice greens but not quite as good as Hawks Landing where we played a couple of days previously. I get the feeling they try to get too many folks out on the course which spoils the pace of play. Staff didn't appear to be as friendly in general may be because it is so busy but I'm thinking Grumpy rather than Happy. Food after the game not as good as regular clubhouses as Disney serves up quick service style
I would not rule out playing again but equally good courses can be found that are less busy and more happy to have you visit.
Great course
What a great day, friendly staff and helpful, the course was in fantastic condition. Disney do Golf really well you do pay a little more than some other local courses but well worth it, can’t wait to come back hopefully Palm will be open next time.
Definitely play
This course is exactly what you would expect form Disney a beautifully maintained golf course fantastic staff you will not be disappointed but don’t expect to have
A special sitdown lunch the food is very basic similar to convenient stores
Beautiful course
Magnolia is special to me as I’ve seen Tiger Woods, Justin Rose V J Singh and many more play in the PGA Disney Classic here. It’s got some great holes and was great to play here again. It wasn’t in the best condition that Ive seen it though. Tee boxes looked a bit worn and greens weren’t the best we’ve played. I still love it here though and would definitely come back again in the future.
Great day
Great day, the foursum I played with are only average players shorting around 100. Still got to play at a relaxing pace with out having other golfers push us at a faster pace then we could play. The course it self was very well maintained and in greast shape.
Magnolia
Amazing Golf course and for the price was great . Only issue was pace of play but a small price to pay for the quality of course . Will play it again for sure .
Great Course if you can make time.
Beautiful course, fairways were in great shape. Being early spring, the greens were just punched so they were a little bumpy and slow. But that is to be expected. I would recommend this course to any golfer. Had some really cool holes and very fun to play.
Awesome Deal
My wife and I played a Sunrise Nine. Great people, very friendly. Good breakfast sandwich and coffee. Course and conditions were excellent. Pace for play was superb. All in all a wonderful experience, Highly recommend doing this.
Not worth the price
Staff is super, course is not what it should be for the price. Extremely over rated but that is Disney.
Actualy the course is Mickey Mouse. The commercials every 30 seconds on there GPS is annoying and the flagsticks are nit Pin Seeker friendly. We gave this course a third chance thats it no more. Greens shabby and bumpy
Good challenge
Good course, good challenge on a windy day, greens good, staff very friendly would highly recommend
Good course but slow Group disturbes the game! Officials have to inform slow groups target time ! 5 hours per round is too much!
Disney Course with Ferry dust.
Great track! It's a tuff course with water and traps. Have to be great off the tee and hit the ball straight. This course plays with a player with a draw. It's fun course to play. It's little pricey because it's Disney. But It's famous because alot of PGA Tour events were here. Not sure about the sand because I wasnt in there. Greens were slow on the course vs on the practice greens were faster. Back none tiffer than front 9. Have to be good on your approach shots and long 4s and 5s.
Poor Value Proposition
It's always fun to get the Disney experience and Magnolia fits the bill. However, the course was in very average condition. Greens were fast. I just think it was overpriced at $125.
To many sand traps
To many sand traps for the average golfer. Other then that it was a great experience. Great wildlife, and course was perfect conditions
Solid test of all golf shots
My family and I really enjoyed playing the Magnolia at Disney. First the staff was great. By far some of the most informative folks from check in to the starter to the marshal on the course. They were on par with Pinehurst and Kapalua which I have played within the last year. The course has plenty to offer for all skill levels. Five sets of tee boxes to fit your game. The course conditions were great for the time of year and knowing they recently had an unusual cold snap. Only one hole was cart path only because they were watering consistently to help get the fairway back. The greens rolled consistent and true. You could hold your approach shot. Only issue is from other golfers not fixing their ball marks. The fairways were cut and rolling out. The rough was down because of the time of year so your ball rolled more than normal when your shots strayed. There are plenty of sand traps that is for sure. They were all raked and the sand was consistent in depth throughout. It was nice to see that the course had not fallen victim to management removing bunkers for pace of play issues. Pace of play was excellent as we were done in under 4 hours. We never had to wait nor were we pushed by the group behind. Carts had GPS and score recording ability. The beverage cart was out and came around a handful of times. The snack shack at the turn was quick with service and the food was good. A nice item was that there were markers at every tee box highlighting some of the significant moments from the PGA event hosted here. The value is average based on my overall golfing experience at other similar style destinations.
