Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Awesome course
We had wanted to play this course for a few years and finally decided to pay a little extra then we are used to. We were not disappointed. The staff is excellent and the course is extremely well maintained. In addition, the carts have GPS systems making club selection easier and there are multiple restrooms on the course. Truly an outstanding experience. My wife and I will definitely be back.
An outstanding layout
This was the first time I played this course and will certainly play it again
Exceeded my lofty expectations
This being a Disney operation, expected a great course with friendly staff and great amenities, but coming from Massachusetts we were surprised just how nice the experience was for the money we spent. Greens fees were only 75 bucks, which is not much more than we are used to paying for a round at a mediocre public course back home. We rented clubs, which were current season, top of the line Taylormades with little wear on them. The course was in very good shape with few signs that a hurricane had just been through the area. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The beverage cart was well stocked and came by often enough to keep us "well hydrated". All in all a fantastic morning, and it was an easy sell to the wives because the Grand Floridian, with a fantastic spa, is in spitting distance. We'll be back to check out the Palm course next time we are in Orlando.
One of Orlando's BEST!
Shop staff great. JD, Pete and Joe. Tee staff friendly and informative. Cart guys great. Course in very good condition despite Irma and clean up has been excellent. Greens true and firm. Fairways excellent and bunkers consistent. I feel for the greens staff. We must have repaired 100 pitch marks between us that weren't ours! A pitch mark should be a badge of honour repaired with pride but no. However this didn't spoil a great round with 3 friends all of us scratch golfers. Both Magnolia and Palm are fair and challenging courses. Not only are they amongst the best in Orlando, I'd say they rank as some of the top courses in Florida!
OK course - slow greens and fairways
As good (or bad) as most Florida tracks. When we played the course was very wet which was the weather's fault. We had to stick to cart paths which made it a long round. Nice layout with plenty of water, sand and interesting wild-life. Wide fairways so hard to lose a ball. Greens were OK - grass was very long and slow compared to UK standards - as were fairways which had no roll whatsoever. Made the course play longer than the yardages.
Everything is magical at Disney...even golf
Great course and they cater to you unlike most courses for this price. They make you know that you’re appreciated. Course showed very little signs of damage from Hurricane Irma. Only complaint was the pace of play was slowed and even though we spoke with a ranger, it never seemed to improve, but then again the golf etiquette of fellow players just isn’t there like it used to be either.
Great layout and great staff
Magnolia was in excellent condition , greens fast and rolling true , fairways immaculate and the layout of the course was fantastic with a great variety of holes.Pace of play was brisk with no holdups.Loads of wildlife as we went round the course - deer , turkey , squirrels etc.
The proshop staff were extremely helpful as were the catering staff - highly recommended experience.
Wife and I were paired with a couple from Colorado and really enjoyed our round of golf.
First time playing this course(usually play the LBV course) now that I know the layout would most certainly use different club selections next time.
Staff as usual were great
Great Course
Course is in excellent condition right now. Greens were perfect, rolled true and smooth and they would hold a shot. My only complaint was the lack of a Marshall, to be fair I played late in the afternoon and few courses have Marshall's that late in the day. I would highly recommend this place to everyone and I'm going to bring my wife down here on vacation.
This is the best course Disney has to offer!
This is my favorite of all the Disney courses it has a great layout and is fun to play. This is a course you can play if your a scratch golfer or a weekend duffer and enjoy it. The course was in good shape it could be a little better a few burn outs and around the greens needs some repairs but overall it was beautiful. The starter Gregg is awesome great advice and an overall pleasure to deal with. I will play here many more times in the future I love all these courses and Disney keeps the place in shape and if you catch the deals ..afordable..Truly
The happiest place on Turf lol
Another great disney golf course
Having played the palm course the day before, I thought I'd give the magnolia course a go and it definitely didn't disappoint! I actually preferred the magnolia course over the palm because of the way it's laid out as the fairways are a lot wider and approach shots in the green seemed to be more accessible (although fairways were wider, if you play your shot off the fairway, it'll take quite some time to find it if ever! The golf course was played back to front so 10-18 first and then 1-9, this is apparently because when they played the Disney classic there, that's the way the pros wanted to play it (hole 9 is nicer than 18 though so possibly why?). Most of the holes were pretty dry with the odd few exceptions however it's a lot, lot dryer than other golf courses throughout Florida at this time of the year. The greens were in good shape and rolled true (some quicker than others though!). The pro-shop staff and the staff at the bag drop off point were great and couldn't be more accommodating. Overall, another Disney course which retains that 'magical' yet very professional feel, a must if in the area.
Great Experience
I always wanted to play this course and really glad I did. It was neat to play a course where the PGA has been and watched on TV. Everything was awesome. The only thing was lunch at the turn was long and the staff in the hut were getting people's orders mixed up. Other than that I'm finding it difficult to find anything negative to say about the his place. Practice facilities - Nice Greens -fast true rolling and receptive. Fairways - 90% perfect. Tee blocks - well Maintained. Bunkers - consistent. The Mickey Mouse Bunkered Par 3 if tough, but if the wind is up, good luck. A par is a good score here in ideal conditions. If I ever get the opportunity to come back I will. Loved it.
Great Shape
In excellent condition. The greens were slightly sandy in the morning as it stuck to your club and ball because of the dew. Still rolled true. By mid morning they were much better. Not too fast, but not slow. Pace of play was a little slow, but that's to be expected for a Disney course with a lot of vacationers playing. Would recommend.
Nice condition, little slow
Course was in great shape. Greens were smooth and quick. Pace of play was slow on the front, took almost 2.5 hours. Back 9 picked up a little. Booked a tee time on golfnow. for some reason Disney moved our tee time back without even calling me or anything, no explanation why either when I got to the course and paid. He acted like it wasn't a big deal, I just wanted an explanation why they did it. The double book the front and back, we went off the back, it is what it is. Nice course, will probably be back to try the Palm course.
So beautiful, those mouse ear bunkers.
Greens and fairways were really good, especially considering the drought.
