Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Poor Value Proposition
It's always fun to get the Disney experience and Magnolia fits the bill. However, the course was in very average condition. Greens were fast. I just think it was overpriced at $125.
To many sand traps
To many sand traps for the average golfer. Other then that it was a great experience. Great wildlife, and course was perfect conditions
Solid test of all golf shots
My family and I really enjoyed playing the Magnolia at Disney. First the staff was great. By far some of the most informative folks from check in to the starter to the marshal on the course. They were on par with Pinehurst and Kapalua which I have played within the last year. The course has plenty to offer for all skill levels. Five sets of tee boxes to fit your game. The course conditions were great for the time of year and knowing they recently had an unusual cold snap. Only one hole was cart path only because they were watering consistently to help get the fairway back. The greens rolled consistent and true. You could hold your approach shot. Only issue is from other golfers not fixing their ball marks. The fairways were cut and rolling out. The rough was down because of the time of year so your ball rolled more than normal when your shots strayed. There are plenty of sand traps that is for sure. They were all raked and the sand was consistent in depth throughout. It was nice to see that the course had not fallen victim to management removing bunkers for pace of play issues. Pace of play was excellent as we were done in under 4 hours. We never had to wait nor were we pushed by the group behind. Carts had GPS and score recording ability. The beverage cart was out and came around a handful of times. The snack shack at the turn was quick with service and the food was good. A nice item was that there were markers at every tee box highlighting some of the significant moments from the PGA event hosted here. The value is average based on my overall golfing experience at other similar style destinations.

It's Disney.. you've got to love it
Great experience.. good golf course.. very touristic but absoluteley lovely
Overrated
Muni courses back home are in better condition that what is supposed to be one of Orlandos premier courses. Greens were bad and hard pan or dirt were the norm in the fairways. Most expensive of the three we played this week and did not include range balls or water like the others. Would not have finished the round if we had not prepaid. Staff just shrugged their shoulders when we did complain. Very disappointed given this is a Disney property.
Disappointed
I was totally disappointed I expected a lush green course and it was not in great shape. The greens were good and fast but the course is not being kept up to what Disney standards should be, brown all over, some dead bushes just won’t go back again. It is a wide open course and the greens were fast but there are better courses here in Florida.
Our tee time was in the early afternoon. It was a busy day at the course due to a large group that was playing. We started on the back nine because of this. It made for a little bit slower round.
Course was in good condition, although didn't seem quite a nice as a few years ago, the last time we were here. There is a lot of sand! The traps were pretty rough as it seemed no one was raking them after using them. Greens were very good.
Well let's see.....This is the second time in 2 consecutive weeks that they've not me tee off at my scheduled time. Both were booked through GolfNow with confirmations. Week 1 I was booked for 8:33. Didn't go off until like 9:15 because the 8:33 tee time was already booked with a foursome??? I was a single. Then, the second week, showed up from my 8:33 tee time and he couldn't find the tee time. I showed him the email confirmation. Says he 'found it' and then looked at my starter slip and it said 8:42. I think he just put me in. Anyway, they came to me and asked if i wanted to play the Palm instead of the Magnolia. I just wanted to play golf so I just went with it. The checkin staff in the Pro Shop aren't the friendliest, kind of have a elitist feel about them.

Always a fun day at Disney
Our group had a great round at the Magnolia course at Disney. Always a fun track to play, the course was in great shape with the dormant rough and green fairways. I love that look in the winter. The greens were extremely pure! Fast and rolled true.
Great course
Welcome to the Disney Machine.
The course is great and it only suffleres a little bit after IRMA. The straffe is friendly, but its like be a part of a machine....in here, standard info, out here.....not personale as it was at Waldorf Astoria.
Joined a great ball with 3 excellent guys from Cuba/Puerto Rico ....thanks a lot guys
Nice Course
Teed off in the fogi whch was cool. Never done that before, couldn't see the ball after 15 yardso off the tee. The fog cleared halfway through the 2nd hole so all was good. The course is in great sharpe and pretty dry for Magnolia. The staff were super nice and helpful. The fairways were nice and the greens were excellent. I got the 9 holes and breakfast deal they offer for $39. You get a breakfast sandwich, coffee or juice before golf and a soft drink or beer after. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good. The pace of play was good and I really enjoyed the 9 holes. I would do this again.
Over rated
Did not like the pace of play. They had a ranger who indicated it was slow after the first hole and had taken care of problem . This was actually good that they were proactive however the pace never improved through nine holes. Took 2 hours and 30 minutes. Second nine improved because some groups dropping out ahead of us. Course condition was very good and liked the layout. Not worth the overall value. Rental clubs included Taylor made m2 woods and irons. Good set and rental shoes and dozen golf balls included.southbury
With a wdw course you know what conditions will be-top notch
Played on a cool day, windy. One hole was cart path only as wet. Greens were in good shape and fast. The overall course condition is very good. They did have a delayed start this morning due to frost but I played just before noon and they were back on time. My only complaint is they do not sell any Bud products on any of the Disney courses. So if you want a beer during or after the round you might not like the choice
Disney Golf..where good golf happens
I arrived at the pro shop just at my tee time because of traffic and road construction on the DIsney property. But the guys in the pro shop got me on quickly and without a hassle. I started golfing alone, but several holes in I noticed that there were 2 groups of 4 in front of me and two gentlemen behind me. I decided to play along with the two behind me because play would not move quickly and it is better to play with another group than alone. The course was good, but I would think Disney could spend some money and repave all of the golf cart paths. There were a lot of holes and bumps. Reminded me of driving on the roads in Pennsylvania. Always appreciate the refreshment cart coming around and not just with beverages but food items also. The whole experience was very positive.
Magnolia
Best of the Disney courses. Long layout with some challenging carries. Course has the Mickey Mouse hole. Best hot dogs in Orlando. Friendly and professional staff.
Great staff and good layout
We were a foursome and had to change our tee time due to inclement weather coming in. The staff at the proshop was extremely accomodating and had our group tee off earlier without any trouble. The course was in great shape and was a good challenge for all of our players ( handicap from 8 to 22). Would definitely play the course again and again.
Great Deal
Excellent afternoon deal on a long, challenging but fair course
Followed a very slow 4 ball but that aside really enjoyable

Our courses right now are recovering from a colder than normal January, and we are sorry that you are disappointed in the overall conditioning of our playing surfaces. By not over-seeding our fairways, roughs, or greens, we able to keep the golf course in pristine more weeks of the year to ensure our guests heightened level of enjoyment, but the cold snap in January stunted the growth of the grass, that is why you see the discoloration and dormancy of the predominantly Bermuda grass upon our fairways and roughs.
