Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Not worth the price of admission!
Golf course (layout) and pace of play were great.. $140/person to not get valet, car to cart bag service post round and was told to buy range balls is ridiculous.
ChampionsGate is half the price and twice the customer experience. Not worth the price of admission
Golf at Disney
Golfing at any Disney course is always a treat. The staff is exceptional as you would expect at any place associated with Disney. It is run by Arnold Palmer Golf, so it also has the benefits of being run by people who certainly known golf.
We played as a group of four, myself (Sadly a 28 handicap at this time) and my husband (about a 6 handicap) and our favorite golfing friends who play so closely to us that many of our games end in a draw. I was worried at first about pace of play when the starter told us that the course was very busy, but we waited very little and completed our round in about 4 hours. The fairways were plush and the greens (after the first few) held the ball nicely.
The only thing that could have been better...even vacation golfers need to take the time to fill their divots or, if they don't, someone else needs to. Almost every time we hit a ball in a common landing area there were a minefull of divots. You could fill 10 without walking anywhere, and yet our cart had so little sand we could barely fill our own. Great course... I would play every day if I didn't live an hour away.
Nice course, great pace
Pro shop merchandise overpriced, but course is nice and well maintained.
Great day
It was a pleasure to play this course today there is no better service. Than what you’ receive at a Disney resort
The pace of play was excellent 4 hrs at a resort can not be beat the course was in good shape
Disney Magnolia
Really not worth the money. This course is in no where near the condition that it was in 10 years ago. It's a shame that a course that bares both Walt Disney's and Arnold Palmer's names is not worth baring either. This has become a muni course. Disapointed.
Thank you for your feedback on your recent round at Walt Disney World® Golf. We apologize for the fact that your were displeased with the facilities and services that your experienced. We hope that you will play our wonderful courses again in time to come, so we can exceed your expectations upon your next visit to Orlando.
Our courses right now are extremely busy with above normal wear and tear on the golf courses. We are sorry that you are disappointed in the overall conditioning of our playing surfaces. By not over-seeding our fairways, roughs, or greens, we are able to keep the golf course in better condition more weeks of the year to ensure our guests heightened level of enjoyment, but the colder winter months stunt the growth of the grass, that is why you see the discoloration and dormancy of the predominantly Bermuda grass upon our areas of rough.

Fixed some things; need to improve rough and tees
VERY friendly staff. Great layout. Fixed the timing issue at the snack bar. Pace of play was great. Rough and tees need a lot of attention. And they need to replace practice tees mats.
Disney Magic
Always great staff and conditions. Only issue is no place on property to really sit down for and after round meal, beside the snack stand.
One of the most improved courses
I am local player and Orlando has over 90 public courses that you can choose. I always found Disney courses overpriced and not in good shape, so I tended to avoid them. However, since Arnold Palmer Golf Management assumed the courses, I noticed a huge, substantial overall improvement.. Played Waldorf Astoria and Magnolia in the same weekend and conditions were very similar. The difference is the price: $170 for Waldorf and $50 for Magnolia. The staff is Disney standard! Period. Today, for instance, we arrived 5 minutes later than our tee-time. My fault that did not foreseen the traffic. The staff did everything accommodate me and re-arrange the schedule. We played in 3:45 hours. Disney's courses returned to be in my list of frequent places to play. My only comment to future reference is that such clubhouse deserved an on-site restaurant overlooking the practice green and the former PGA Tour winner banners. Nothing big but something more post-round inviting than the current snack bar at the turn.
Course was in great shape, weather was perfect - I guess you could say it was a magical day.
Another great day at WDW Golf
Played early Sunday morning. Was paired with two ladies from Japan. They could not speak any English, but we were able to converse through the smart phone translator. They played very well. The course was in fantastic shape. Had to avoid 25-30 turkeys a couple of times. Greens were in great shape. A lot of bunkers guarding the greens, but still very manageable. Free courtesy taxi from the resort and back was terrific. Have been playing Disney golf on all my trips down these days. LBV may be just a slight shade better, but Magnolia was a very close second.
disappoiting
a mickey mouse cart at entrance and a mickey mouse designed sand trap is too little for a Disney GC. the semi rough is more like surging for Easter eggs than good for a golfcourse., hiding balls totally.
The design is just standard nothing really special.
avoid to drive the cart too close to the greens as you can only drive your cart backwards, if possible.
I was ending up at the parking area on 18th hole and had to leave it there and walk back to clubhouse. the GPS should be re-programmed to avoid this. I know that this is possible from my own course.
Lovely course but wanted more Disney themed
As a child at heart I was hoping to have more Disney themes on the course. Having said that, the course is beautiful and in fantastic condition. Only minus was not many drink stations or facilities to buy snacks along the way. Would definitely play again.
Magnolia not so magnificent
Not a very special golfcourse. Greens were in not so good condition. Speed of play was terrible, flight in front of us even had music playing from their carts. This is not the finest golf you can get, certainly not for 75 dollar. First nine holes no catering on the course. So, i don't recommend this course, too commercial and way to little value for money.
Wet
This is a beautiful course, and the staff could not have been nicer. I gave a poor rating for course conditions because the fairways where so soggy we had cart path only on the whole course. We where offered a rain check if the course was too wet after two holes of play, which was very nice.
