Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7505 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 142 and a 76.6 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Hot day, great course
First time out playing Mag. Picking a 12:30pm tee time in late June was a mistake but the course was in great shape. Couldn't believe that the greens were actually slower than I am used to especially since it had been bone dry and hot for the past 3 days. Course was in good shape, played fair but challenging. Can't imagine playing from the tips here, whites were extremely fair but forced you to pick your shot. Already played LBV and Palm so this was the 3rd of 3 I wanted to check off. Being a Orlando resident has its perks and cheap tee times at an awesome course is one of them.
Overbooked with poor maintenance and bumpy green
Sad but I cannot find anything good to say about my Golf experience at Magnolia. Five hours round waiting for 2 groups at each tee box. Marshall’s are not doing much, course condition poor and the greens are slow and bumpy ... probably on purpose to protect the greens from such a high traffic. Disappointing for the $$$.
Magnolia length
Magnolia is a fantastic course, 6500 yards from white and played really long with wet conditions, as always great staff and pace of play always monitored.
Must Play
This course is a must play, Challenging and absolutely beautiful, loved the history on the plaques of every hole.
Tough test, but enjoyable round!
Course was in very good shape and the staff was very friendly.
I'm a 5 handicap who played both the Palms and Magnolia this week, and the Magnolia plays significantly longer and tougher. Good variety of holes, and while tough, it's still fun to play.
The rates are a little stiff for non-residents (something that is consistently true of Disney!), but overall it was an enjoyable round.
Magnolia at Disney
First off, my tee time was 645am so, after a day at Animal Kingdom, with a two year old, I was pretty tired. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS TO FIND THIS COURSE!!! Maps will take you to the Four Seasons resort.
After a few moments to cool down from the Maps mishap I spent a few minutes on the putting green to calm down. I headed over to the 1st tee and met my fellow earlybirds. The staff was amazing. Periodically they would keep us updated on the event that wentoff on the 10th. The whole time we were out there I saw maybe 8 golfers. The course was manicured to perfection and the greens were immaculate. I don't know what kind of grass they had on the greens, but it was perfect.
The course layout is beautiful and being the first off we saw much wildlife. Deer, turkey, gators, and all the general fawna that one would find in Florida.
Overall this was an enjoyable experience that I hope to experience again and again.
Great course
This course has a great layout and the course is well maintained. The course was backed up because a threesome of ladies decided they were gonna play the white tees...they were all over the course. I know they were excited to play the course, but play to your ability and enjoy your round. They were definitely not enjoying their round. Kudos to the starter; 10 was backed up 3 groups and he let us slide off the front again with no groups in front...turned a 5 1/2 hour round into a 4 hour round.
Disappointing
I have played Magnolia for more than twenty years but have never seen the course in this poor condition. Bunkers were inconsistent, greens very slow and unfilled divots were prevalent, Pace of play was acceptable for a course that serves a number of couples or adults with younger players spread throughout the tee sheet. I do think the course condition was not up to prior years. Still, I enjoy the course. and will return.

Nice
Nice course, nice layout, nice greens, needs rangers.
Great golf in the heart of magic
Played on 3/6/18, cold morning, every cast member was very friendly and very helpful. Course was in great shape, fairways were plush and greens rolled true. Pace of play was not an issue as the starter made sure groups were playing the correct tees.
A Disney Experience!
Typical of Disney that every aspect of the experience is assured to give guests an unforgettable time. From the staff, to the course, to the scenery, to the pace of play and wildlife, we had a terrific time. Ed, the Marshall & Starter was most helpful and in particular in helping to retreave my wife’s lost club.
Not worth the price of admission!
Golf course (layout) and pace of play were great.. $140/person to not get valet, car to cart bag service post round and was told to buy range balls is ridiculous.
ChampionsGate is half the price and twice the customer experience. Not worth the price of admission

Golf at Disney
Golfing at any Disney course is always a treat. The staff is exceptional as you would expect at any place associated with Disney. It is run by Arnold Palmer Golf, so it also has the benefits of being run by people who certainly known golf.
We played as a group of four, myself (Sadly a 28 handicap at this time) and my husband (about a 6 handicap) and our favorite golfing friends who play so closely to us that many of our games end in a draw. I was worried at first about pace of play when the starter told us that the course was very busy, but we waited very little and completed our round in about 4 hours. The fairways were plush and the greens (after the first few) held the ball nicely.
The only thing that could have been better...even vacation golfers need to take the time to fill their divots or, if they don't, someone else needs to. Almost every time we hit a ball in a common landing area there were a minefull of divots. You could fill 10 without walking anywhere, and yet our cart had so little sand we could barely fill our own. Great course... I would play every day if I didn't live an hour away.
Nice course, great pace
Pro shop merchandise overpriced, but course is nice and well maintained.
Great day
It was a pleasure to play this course today there is no better service. Than what you’ receive at a Disney resort
The pace of play was excellent 4 hrs at a resort can not be beat the course was in good shape
Disney Magnolia
Really not worth the money. This course is in no where near the condition that it was in 10 years ago. It's a shame that a course that bares both Walt Disney's and Arnold Palmer's names is not worth baring either. This has become a muni course. Disapointed.

Our courses right now are extremely busy with above normal wear and tear on the golf courses. We are sorry that you are disappointed in the overall conditioning of our playing surfaces. By not over-seeding our fairways, roughs, or greens, we are able to keep the golf course in better condition more weeks of the year to ensure our guests heightened level of enjoyment, but the colder winter months stunt the growth of the grass, that is why you see the discoloration and dormancy of the predominantly Bermuda grass upon our areas of rough.

Our courses right now are recovering from our annual Spring aerification maintenance, and we are sorry that you are disappointed in the overall conditioning of our playing surfaces. They are still in the final stages of recovery from the procedure administered in late May.
