About
The Country Club of Mount Dora is a semi-private club located 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando in the hills of Lake County. The course was built by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton design and opened in 1991 and features water on 16 of 18 holes, as well as raised greens and bunkers. The course is set on mature landscape and affords views of the nearby horse farms and lakes. The par-72 course features bermuda grass tees and greens, plus three tee boxes to choose from. The country club is also home to a clubhouse, swimming pool and four tennis courts onsite.

More than elated!
The staff are very friendly and personable with all who play with a bonus of following COVID protocols! We were very impressed. Unfortunately, due to the extreme heat I was forced to give up playing after 11 holes and my husband 14. But we will be back!

Good course, horrible customer service.
Played at 3pm. Was told “we don’t have a 9 hole rate- it’s $30 after 3”. I was also told I could get a rain check as the forecast showed rain coming in. After the 10th hole, I headed back in due to rain. I was then told by the (I use the term loosely) pro that “we don’t give rain checks- you paid for 9 holes and played 9 holes”. I said “your other employee told me I could get a rain check.” He said the guy was mistaken. This is why courses are closing. Don’t waste your time or money here.
We’re very sorry to hear that you had a poor recent experience with us, however, we can assure you we are trying to create our rate structure in a way that is a win-win for both parties. Our 9 hole rate is $30 + tax from open to close, all day. We're also currently running a special after 3pm for $30 + tax that includes a sleeve of Srixon golf balls as well, which is the rate you received. It is our 9 hole rate, however, we offer our guests the chance to play as many holes as they can, up to 18 holes. Due to weather in the summer time, as you know, many times golfers are not able to get in a full 18 in the afternoon. We had the same structure last summer and our guests loved it since they did not have to worry about rain checks most of the time, essentially playing 18 holes for a 9 hole rate if the weather is favorable. We do offer rain checks after 3pm in two circumstances. First, the shop needs to be still open (we close at 6:30pm) and second, the customer could not finish 9 holes due to inclement weather. At that point, we print out a credit voucher based on the number of holes completed. Upon your check-in, we recall you mentioning that you only had an hour and 15 minutes to play and our staff explained that you’re essentially paying to play 9 holes. We do apologize if there was any misunderstanding with our raincheck policy, but feel that our rates and course conditions reflect one of the best values in the area as the course is in great shape. Another beautiful spring day in central Florida before the humidity hits. The course was in great shape and the greens were running fast and true.

Great challenging course
I played this course for the 1st time and was thoroughly impressed with the layout. The fairways were nice and this course makes you use every club in your bag. Enjoyable day on the course. I will definitely play it again.

Nice track with excellent greens
A very nice course and definitely would recommend and play again. The greens were in outstanding shape! ...(Which is the most critical aspect to us). Unfortunately we caught some bad weather (torrential down pour) for about 30 minutes or so. We also found the pace of play a bit slow.
Overall, we found this course very enjoyable to play and would recommend to others

Course has a lot of water but the scenery is pretty. Course is in good condition and fun to play.

The Course has come a long way!
We played this course in early spring and the efforts of the grounds staff have certainly paid off! The greens were in great condition, the fairways almost perfect. Kudos to you all! The staff were most friendly as well as the players! The only suggestion I would have is requesting the player assistant on their approach to don a face mask over their mouth and nose when speaking with players and in close proximity. Otherwise, all COVID protocols with regard to pro shop were certainly being followed! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves yesterday!
