About
The Country Club of Mount Dora is a semi-private club located 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando in the hills of Lake County. The course was built by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton design and opened in 1991 and features water on 16 of 18 holes, as well as raised greens and bunkers. The course is set on mature landscape and affords views of the nearby horse farms and lakes. The par-72 course features bermuda grass tees and greens, plus three tee boxes to choose from. The country club is also home to a clubhouse, swimming pool and four tennis courts onsite.

Wow what a relief to play a central Florida course that isn’t a pasture or burnt or just uncared for !!

Pace of Play very very slow!
It was an extremely nice day weatherwise. We waited at each tee about 5 minutes for the group ahead as most were playing twosomes. Understandable, during these COVID times. However, when we got to the 11 tee, we waited for the group in front for close to 12 to 13 minutes. Apparently, they had let 2 twosomes through, and a single. At that point, we packed up and left, quite disappointed as we had called in and they advised there was a Marshall somewhere on the course.

Course is in excellent shape
Course has water on most holes which makes it difficult for those of us who cant hit the ball straight

Beautiful course. Greens need to fill in a little more, but overall course shape was good. Pace of play was slow.

OK course/Too much waiting
First time playing this course. Layout and course conditions were reasonably good. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Unfortunately, we were a twosome behind another twosome that hit the ball 20 yards sideways and/or rolled the ball on almost every shot. The front nine was painful...waited on every shot for what seemed like a long time before we could hit so we played terribly. That group quit after 9 and the back 9 was much better. Overall, pace was probably on time but we play fast and it was painful watching and waiting on the group ahead. Just not enjoyable when you wait on every shot and have to watch bad golf ahead of you. Not worth a return visit for us.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Do you want a challenge? Think you hit a good ball? This course will beat the best of them. Take up the challenge, bring plenty of balls. Course is in perfect condition, no excuses!

Great course
I had a great day, weather was fantastic, pace of play was great, only complaint is they verti cut the greens probably 10 days ago, they played well, but I would’ve appreciated knowing in advance. I went as a single, I joined up with a threesome of members that live on the course, and ended up having a fantastic day. I hope I don’t get anyone’s name wrong but thank you Bill, Bob, and Ron for not only inviting me to play with them, but tolerating me all day long. I will definitely try to get back to this course.

Good Place to Choose
We have played here many times and it is always good. Today the pace of play was excellent. The people are always friendly and the restaurant is a good place to have a pleasant lunch. It is a good layout and the course conditions today were very good. We will be back as soon as we can.

Great Layout - But what happened to the greens?
We have played the course before, so we knew what to expect. The layout is great, with a good mixture of holes. Like the three par 3's and three par 5's on the front nine. Tees and fairways are in good condition. Our only complaint was the condition of the greens. Very patchy, bumpy and difficult to putt. We plan to give this a month to see if the greens fill in a little.
