About
The Country Club of Mount Dora is a semi-private club located 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando in the hills of Lake County. The course was built by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton design and opened in 1991 and features water on 16 of 18 holes, as well as raised greens and bunkers. The course is set on mature landscape and affords views of the nearby horse farms and lakes. The par-72 course features bermuda grass tees and greens, plus three tee boxes to choose from. The country club is also home to a clubhouse, swimming pool and four tennis courts onsite.

Great track
I’ve played Black Bear many times they are going through some course renovations hole number 6 green is being renovated the pin is in the fairway for now, they should probably let people know this in advance before playing, also not sure how they plan to solve the water issue in front of the green when they eventually open it. Even so this course is always a pleasure to play I played as a single and was warned that there were a couple of groups ahead of me a four and a three, the three ahead of me were no problem but the four ahead of them were hitting from the tips, no idea why?? as they were taking multiple drops and extra shots the whole way. on the last hole the group ahead of me and the group behind me a twosome were waiting to play as one of the four did a tin cup reenactment and hit the ball into the water three times before anyone else could play, otherwise beautiful day and I was still golfing!
Nice day very good course
I would have given all 5 stars but the greens were punched what looks like a week ago so they were a bit bumpy. Certainly very playable but not as good as they normally are. They have to do it sometime to keep them as good as they normally are. Kudos to the pro shop and starter for an enjoyable round. Great value and certainly worth playing often. Fun layput

Good course
Played this course fo the first time. Greens were ok despite being punched a week ago. No deep rough to worry about and decent layout. Staff was very friendly.
AERATION ALERT
They aerated on Monday 9/14. Golf now, please bold that faded out pink lettering. You can see that on a computer screen, not on a smart phone. Will take a webtech literally 3 seconds to do that. Greens will be ready in 10-14 days.

Good layout-Course was in super shape . Plenty of water in play added a little challenge with not being familiar with the course. Pace of play was good and was monitored.Greens were large but well maintained. Very good experience

Nice course to get out on while in the area. Got stopped by heavy rains for about 20 minutes on the 7th hole, but we were able to finish. The course drained very well, better than expected. Fairways are pretty good condition and only issue was a few greens had patchy spots. Always enjoy playing here.

pleasant surprise
Had not been here for many years. Price was reasonable so we gave it a try. Wow, the course was in as good a condition as any I have played in the last year. Fairways were grassy and manicured. the greens were just quick enough to challenge but rolled very true. A lot of the rough was a little thick but hey that's why you play from the fairway.
Except for the less than friendly clubhouse help it was a great experience.

What a Treat!
My first time here. The pro shop gave me a course guide, which had lots of blue on it. The starter advised me to have plenty of balls, which I needed. Challenging layout requiring good shot placement to score well. Tough but fair. I will be back soon!
