About
The brilliant Terry LaGree design harmonizes with spectacular scenery to create Royal Oaks -- a unique and picturesque course. Powder sand bunkers dot undulating fairways lined by stately oaks and shimmering water. The course, part of the Audubon system, has preserved mature trees and native vegetation, making it a sanctuary for migratory birds and an unmatched setting for your game. The 6,650-yard par 72 course features four tee boxes on every hole. The front nine is characterized by rolling fairways with up to 35-foot elevation changes, lined with tall Slash Pines and Blue Jack Oaks. The back nine features an open meadow appearance with stands of stately live oaks shading some of the greens. Generous landing areas reward well-placed shots.

Greens are so good. The rolling of the ball is so true . The leaves are in the woods and not on the course .
conditions
The course had too many leaves on fairways and greens. it was hard to find the ball in the fairways. The fairways are very tight, no grass or very little. Sand traps needed raked and worked. Greens , however are very good and the ball rolls out nicely. They are on the fast side because of the cold weather and being rolled..
One of the best around!
Course as in great shape, only played it twice. But it’s a lot of fun!
Will never play here again
Came into town for the holiday and decided to hit the links with a buddy. Decided to bring my 3 y/o son out and the course starter gave us a hard time for bringing him out and stated, “Normally we don’t allow children on the course, but we will allow it if he stays in the cart”. My son isn’t a pest, and he just wanted to ride in the cart all day to spend time with dad. That wasn’t our only issue with this course. Our tee time was 11:15, and we got there at 10:45 to hit the range prior. The pro shop advised us we shouldn’t hit the range because you cannot drive the carts to the range, and had to drive your vehicle because it was at the front of the community. Our final issue was that we were practicing our putting, and at 11:05, the course starter came to us and said, “You are needed at the tee box. You guys need to be done teeing off at 11:15”. I’ve never heard this and I’ve played many courses. I’m under the impression you meet at the box for your tee time, but o could be mistaken.
Beautiful course
Very well maintained greens and fairways. Bermuda grass just off fairways so had to search a couple of times, but found all. Very nice staff. All in all a great course. Look for the turkeys!
Still One of my Favorites
There are some changes because of covid. No guard at the gate so you insert your driver's license into a machine to get in. Bring water because they are not providing it. You need to go through the door near the pro shop and not the main entrance to check in. The course is in excellent shape. The wild turkeys still hang out on the course for you nature lovers. The fairways are very open. I have no criticisms. Plus I booked same day and got a great Hot Deal.

The fairways are in excellent condition.
Some areas around greens a bit thin due to aeration.
Grat shape. Pure greens. Soft with rain. Letting fairways and tee boxes grow. Smart. Very well kept.
