Royal Oaks Golf Club
About
The brilliant Terry LaGree design harmonizes with spectacular scenery to create Royal Oaks -- a unique and picturesque course. Powder sand bunkers dot undulating fairways lined by stately oaks and shimmering water. The course, part of the Audubon system, has preserved mature trees and native vegetation, making it a sanctuary for migratory birds and an unmatched setting for your game. The 6,650-yard par 72 course features four tee boxes on every hole. The front nine is characterized by rolling fairways with up to 35-foot elevation changes, lined with tall Slash Pines and Blue Jack Oaks. The back nine features an open meadow appearance with stands of stately live oaks shading some of the greens. Generous landing areas reward well-placed shots.

Track’s in Great Shape
Solid course in great shape. Tee boxes were a little patchy but everything else was top notch.
Course review
Have not played this course in about 3 years ago.. the course was a pleasant surprise. Condition was very good and staff was very friendly. I will go back even though a 35 minute ride for us !!!!!
Royal oak
Course was in good shape. Greens were very good. People great had a good time recommend it
Greens are Back!
Last time I played a couple months ago, the greens were not good. They were in bad shape. Today, however, the greens were in very good shape, a little slow, but they rolled well. I was very pleased with the greens.
Always in good shape
Very nice practice green, brand new carts (no annoying gps), laid back pro shop, and a very fun course. You don’t get punished with bad lies or random hazards when you hit good shots. I play a lot of $20-$30 rounds and this course has the best/most consistent greens in that range that I’ve found.
Golfnow Customers Not Wanted
From the attitude of the people operating the course (everyone from the person checking you in to the course starter/ranger) it was very evident that they really didn't want golfnow hot deal customers playing. In Florida during the summer, most golf courses are very eager to get anyone to play in the afternoons as the courses are basically empty. So, if you show up a little early most just let you play when you get there. In this case, no one on the course, but we were told very specifically that the golf course does not get any money from the hot deal and we all would have to wait exactly for our tee time to start. They didn't seem to care when it was pointed out in return for the hot deal time they got a ton of free advertising by being on the golfnow website.
The freenas pitted well, but were too firm to hold a wedge shot. Liked the variety of goles.
Turkey Time
Aside from the gated community requiring drivers license scan and the group of large wild but apparently unskidish turkeys on one hole the course was excellent shape.
Great Course
With all the rain we've had (and we got drenched with three holes to go) the course looks great. Always challenging but fair. Stay on the fairway (duh!) and the game becomes easier. Off the fairways there are a multitude of problems and in the trees...forget about it. Even with all that, come play. Just an FYI,,,at this time there is no ice or water available at the course so be sure to bring your own.
Greens not good
I have played this course several times in recent weeks. Last round the greens didn’t look good but they rolled fine and true. Today, the greens were awful. They were bumpy, inconsistent and moved the ball off course multiple times. It was guess work on the greens. It would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could play elsewhere. Hopefully it is just a fluke.
Love the design. Course in good shape, especially fwys. Greens thinning but puttable and true. Evidence of good maintenance efforts, weed control and sanding greens
Fun course
Had a great time
fairways are in good shape.
big greens but aerated but we still had fun.
Will golf here again.
Course overall pretty good. Greens going thru a growth phase or something. Browned out but still very playable. Like everywhere needs natural rain. Good day for golf.
