Royal Oaks Golf Club
About
The brilliant Terry LaGree design harmonizes with spectacular scenery to create Royal Oaks -- a unique and picturesque course. Powder sand bunkers dot undulating fairways lined by stately oaks and shimmering water. The course, part of the Audubon system, has preserved mature trees and native vegetation, making it a sanctuary for migratory birds and an unmatched setting for your game. The 6,650-yard par 72 course features four tee boxes on every hole. The front nine is characterized by rolling fairways with up to 35-foot elevation changes, lined with tall Slash Pines and Blue Jack Oaks. The back nine features an open meadow appearance with stands of stately live oaks shading some of the greens. Generous landing areas reward well-placed shots.

This well established course with a solid setup.
As a average golfer, I enjoyed playing this course. Greens seem a little slow to me, but ran true. Enjoyed the replay value and speed of play. Enjoyed lunch between rounds. I will look forward to playing this course again!
We had extrinsically slow in front of us 4 to 5 holes open in front of them,. 5 hours plus for the round
Great Course
The entire course was in great shape – tee boxes, fairways, greens. At this time of year, I was surprised to be hitting shots off the fairway on good grass and not dirt. The cart path was circuitous and gives a nice tour of each hole and surroundings. The staff was very friendly and helpful as this was our first time playing here. Try it I am sure you will like it!
One of the best in Ocala area
We are annual visitors staying at the Villages and we have golfed at many of the courses in the Ocala area. This course is one of the best ones for the price . Lots of green grass, unlike the Villages, and very scenic. There are trees on each hole but not a problem most of the time. Only water is on the 18th. We will play this course every year we come down.

First time playing Royal Oaks. Great experience. Played with 3 super guys who had played here several times. Pace of play was amazing, especially for a 10am tee time! Course was in great shape. Liked the layout. I will be back.
Ranking it only GOOD
Reasons for not rating it a 5. Our threesome found the course in pretty good condition. The greens rolled quite slow. Fairways were okay. The tee boxes need work as none were found level, tilting side to side or front to back. Overall. We found the course not as challenging as we had hoped. Value for the price was good.
Lots of fun
Great weather, great friends throw in a really nice course and a great time is had by all. The course is lined with lots of mature oak trees, several of which come into play if your shot is in the wrong place. Not a lot of sand traps, but again on some holes they will dictate your club selection. Fairways had lots of grass, rough was in very playable shape. Your tee shot on 18 is over the water, but that is the only water in play on the whole course. But the greens, oh my, they were slick and in fantastic shape. If you are in the Ocala area make a trip over to Royal Oaks you will not be disappointed.
Great course!
Always a pleasure to play Royal Oaks. Always in good condition, staff is very friendly and drinks on the patio afterwards has a great view.
