Great course
That was my best course ever.Beautifful lay out and not easy course.
Well maintained and a good value
The greens were a little sandy, as they were aerated a month ago. I was expecting them to be pristine, however they were still pretty good. Friendly staff. Shower/change facilities were clean. Pro-shop has some good sale items. Nice rental club set, Rocket Balls Stage 2. The only real disappointment was that the club did not have a beverage cart in operation during the afternoon. This is almost criminal in August in central FL. Instead you had to get refreshments from the bar or food service counter inside the clubhouse. Unfortunately both times we went inside there was a line 4-5 deep as the person working was somewhere in the back and not aware of the growing population. Cups/Ice/Water shoud be more readily available at the starter's station. He had ice.
Nice Course. I would come back again.
Pros: Well maintained fairway. Nice combination of easy & challenging holes. Greens are nice and curvy. Friendly staff. Ranger offered ice-cold towel on a hot day in Florida and it was a pleasant surprise.
Cons: Need to mow tee boxes closely. Grass was too tall for tee box. Greens are relatively slow.
Challenging Layout
This course will test your game. Plenty of room to land in fairways, but course management is a must. Greens run true and smooth. A great course to play.
Nice track for a resort course
Cart path only no fault of the course as it was very wet and as we started to make the turn we got called back to the club House due to the next storm coming thru. 45 minute delay. Staff was great. Cold towels brought to us around the 4th hole. Course was aerated a week ago. Greens still rolled pretty true. Nice layout with some risk reward holes but mostly straight up. Played from 6600 markers with no roll made it all you needed
Great Course
The course was in great shape. The greens were very tricky and you really needed to stick your landings, otherwise the ball tended to roll off of the greens and into trouble ( bunkers, water, thick rough). Everyone was super friendly. This is a course that we will play again when we are in the area..
Great course, staff, value for your money
Great experience, did not bring clubs because of rain predicament, turned out to be a beautiful day. The club rented my wife and I each a set of current Taylor-Made clubs for less than one way baggage fee on an airline. The same clubs could be used the rest of the week complimentary. Despite daily rain, carts were allowed on the fairway, great course, staff extremely courteous, complimentary range balls, gps, towels, ice chest, four sleeves of balls all for a great price. Will play this course again for sure.
Great greens for this time of the year in Florida.
We really enjoyed our round - so much we are going to do it again tomorrow. Course is in great condition with quick - for this time of year - greens. As a couple it was good to find a course which suited both myself and my wife.
One of the best (public) courses ive played..
Great layout and challenging play. Beautifully groomed and up to date tech. A must play if in the area, at very reasonable prices.
Great layout with good mix of average to long holes playing from the green tees.
Overall, enjoyed playing the course. It was well maintained much like other Marriott resort courses. Generous landing areas, greens were average speed for time of day and time of year. Par 3 into the wind can be very challenging.
One of the best courses in Central Florida
Challenging, great design, short holes especially interesting.. greens in terrific condition. Well worth the fee.
Great round, the greens were probably punched a few weeks ago but they are rolling good still. I would definitely recommend playing it. I
If you're a 10-20 handicap play from the greens. They recommend playing the gold tees if you're over a 10 which makes sense for their pace of play but the gold tees are incredibly short. I'm a 6 and I played with my buddy who is a 20. I hit 6 iron off of almost every tee on the front because we played the front from the golds. On the back we played the green and that was like playing a normal course anywhere else, nothing challenging about it except you're actually hitting woods and not mid-irons off the tees.
Awesome course though, the greens grab really well and you can't beat GPS carts and not having to wait more than a few holes to see the cart girl. Definitely recommend, from the green tees.
First time at this course.
Great golf course, nice undulating greens, and nice fairway conditions.
Overall, pretty good.
The course is generally in great shape, however the greens where very slow due to the fact that they were just top dressed. Not really that big of a deal, it just would have been nice to know before hand.
However my only real complaint is with the range. There are two tee boxes: a tee box for the general public which is located on the far right of the range and the tee-box reserved for lessons which is centrally located. The range for the general public seems to never have fresh grass, there are too few stations and some stations to the very right of the box are blocked by bushes.
Fun Course !!
Since the total "re-do" a few years ago...Grande Pines has become one of the best in the area. Bring your A-game putter....you will need it. The staff is excellent and the course is fun....fun....fun. A nice bonus is the very detailed GPS on every cart. The day we played was very overcast and rain / lightning. Twice we got a message on the GPS to come to the clubhouse. Excellent advice in central Florida. Maybe a nice addition would be a rain shelter on each nine by the restrooms?? Food is good and not priced bad for an upscale golf course.
Pleasant surprise
I haven't played very much over the last 10 years but was treated to one of my all time favorite courses on 6/29/13.
The course was in great shape, the staff was excellent, the course was a real challenge. I enjoyed the golf immensely!
Great facility. Great course.
Course was kept in great shape and played challenging. Great value for such a spectacular course.
This course is in excellent condition and is a decent test for golfers of all level of abilities.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the quality of the hire clubs was excellent (Taylormade RocketBlade irons and Rocketballz Mark II woods). We played off the Green boxes which were just in front of the back Black boxes. We found these to be a decent but fair test. We played the course two days later and were delighted to find out the hire clubs were free the second time around. The refreshment cart came round in regular intervals and the cart with the 'ice cold face towels' was a welcome bonus on a very hot day. All in all this was an extremely enjoyable experience and I would certainly recommend this course to other holiday golfers.
This course had a nice layout.
We arrived a little late for our tee time but the staff was very pleasant and fit us in with no fuss. We had a great day of golf.
