Viera East Golf Club
About
Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

Not even close to worth $93!!!
Greens are absolutely horrible!!! Two different types of grass. Bumpy and very inconsistent. Tee boxes are a joke. Like hitting off of a sanded green. Little grass on tees. Fairways were patchy at best. There are much better courses around. If this was a $40 course it would be fine. Not even close to worth $93. I golf anywhere from Vero to Orlando to Daytona. Hate to hate on a course but this one is in bad shape!!!
Viera East
Nice layout many greens surrounded by water . The greens had a patchy funky color in spots due to the sever frost a few weeks ago .But we’re rolling great overall a nice track
Course is nice. Tough shape due to recent weather and lack of rain. Had a great time but I don't think its an 85.00 course
Great course!
I’ve lived here for 14 years and this has been my home course for over 20. Much has changed, mostly for the good. I enjoy the white sand, the layout is exceptional. My takeaway from my last experience speaks to the staff. My wife and I had lunch on Saturday at the restaurant (Hook and Eagle), which was great! On Sunday, I played a round with my friend. Unfortunately, my personal cart broke down between the first and second holes. I called the pro shop and they immediately dispatched two staff members to bring us another cart and tow mine back to the barn until I could have it picked up for repair. On the 5th hole we were in the fairway waiting on the group in front of us when the Marshal (Fred) approached to let us know that it was slow, and to just relax and enjoy our day. We saw him 3 or four more times during our round and he was always friendly and apologetic. We told him ‘no worries’, that we were enjoying just catching up after several months of not seeing each other. Despite two occurrences that could easily upset a round, the staff were hands on and polite to make sure we were satisfied. Thanks also to Manager, Darren. I’ll be back every chance I get!
Over priced for the condition of the course
Always a challenging place to play, conditions not much better than a well kept muni so unless you catch a very good hot deal it’s probably over priced
Good course
Though the freeze did a lot of damage to many of the courses in the area, this course is in decent shape. Fairways a little brown, but greens and bunkers good. Staff is super friendly. Didn’t eat here, beverage lady very nice too. Good layout. Like the course.
Love this course
We moved to Viera 14 years ago specifically to of this golf course. The fairways are forgiving, beautiful views, greens are challenging but fair. My only less than excellent rating is because the greens have suffered due to lack of rain (no fault of the excellent staff). Many improvements have been made in the past few years. Definitely my choice in the area!
Greens need work
Greens are becoming overwhelmed by weeds patches. Definitely starting to affect puts. Tee boxes are starting to get worn down.
Greens were terrible
The first time I played this course was amazing. Coming back 8 months later really shocked me with how bad the course looked. The greens had weeds in them which made it impossible to putt. What a shame. Not worth the price
One of the best options in this area.
Great layout, multiple tee boxes, fair prices, and excellent greens keeping. All the clubs in this area are still in “ Florida winter” conditions with thin grass in areas and hard ground making it tough to pitch. But, they do a better job here than most places.
We play here every time we visit the area.
Ira
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Several tees to select from for all levels
Greens
Greens in poor shape, full of weeds that made putting impossible. Fairways cut really short that makes it tough to get underneath the ball. Only played nine holes and at ~$40 the track doesn’t warrant the expense. I’m glad I didn’t pay the $83 to play 18!
AVOID AT ALL COST
This place is an absolute JOKE and being over $95 for a goat track is just highway robbery. My first complaint is with the insane residents who think this is their private country club. News flash you old farts, ITS A PUBLIC GOLF COURSE. Nobody cares you live in the neighborhood but thinking they could just roll past us on the FIRST TEE was something I’ve never experienced before. These 4 older men attempted to jump in front of us after we had just teed off. The ensuing conversation with them had me firmly believing this was as hidden camera prank show or something with how clueless these guys were. We were constantly waiting on more slow old people all day long on every single shot. But of course the ignorant course “Marshall” was up our tail saying we need to speed up play even though I had to wait on every single shot because I hit the ball over 100yds with any club in my bag. Food in the restaurant horrible. Cart girl drove by without acknowledging us multiple times. One of the worst times I’ve ever had on a golf course. Pro Shop is terrible literally nothing in it but some bland, boring, basic merch, and they also did nothing to make up for our experience. I would not play here again if you paid me. If you enjoy an awful overpriced experience with a careless staff and rude residents then this the place for you. Course used to be nice but I guess the new pro and GM only care about lining their pockets because it was a dump out there. Bald tee boxes, heavy weeds on the greens. The craziest thing is that Baytree has the best rolling greens around now. I actually went to Baytree after hearing some Viera East employees talking down on the place. These places have flip flopped over the last year. AVOID AVOID AVOID VIERA EAST
