Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

The grass is beginning to grow
Grass in fairways greens and rough is beginning to grow which improves golf experience. Greens were aerated with small punches but didn’t cause putting problems
Nice Place to Play
The staff is very friendly and helpful for all our needs. The start time was accurate for our round, going off the back nine first. No players ahead or behind playing too close, so, the pace was great. As with a good course, the greens were fast, the bunkers well groomed, the fairways in nice shape and even the tee blocks were good, Water and traps come into play on at least 1/2 the holes and create an interesting challenge for those who don't go straight up the middle. The layout is fine and is scenic here and there. Would recommend this course when in the area. Pricey, as most courses are this year.
Just a good time
Played Shingle Creek the Saturday before, and Viera East was worth the value over and over again. My cousin from Canada said he would prefer to play here every day of the week. That’s saying something, conditions overall were great, greens were among the best in central FL and you can’t beat the price. Big cheers to the greeenskeeper
Enjoyable
We had a great round with good conditions on the entire course. Good layout and greens were very playable. Would definitely go back.

Course layout is right in front of you. Greens were in great shape.
Nice Layout, Noisy by Highway
Good variety of holes. Greens are tight with sparse grass. Palms eat a bunch of balls. Six holes near Interstate 95 are very noisy with a west wind.
Breezy
Course is in very good shape except for intermittent tight bare, and dry areas on periphery of approach areas to the greens. Bunkers not bad but some need a bit more sand. Greens which are difficult to read are in very good shape. Frequently breezy and course plays longs. Overall, the course is quite good with a interesting layout. Staff is friendly except for the occasional grumpy pro shop employee. Good on course refreshment cart service.

The course is in good shape, greens could be better, but overall in good shape. Hot day made for long play, some challenges on this course will make it fun.
