About
Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

Conditions
Course in good shape. Outside of some rough areas,I would have rated it a 5 star
A good test without the funky Florida layout
Greens were sneaky fast and in excellent condition. Fairway excellent as well. You won't be disappointed. Played as a 3 some in 4 hours.

Why have a ranger if he does NOTHING?
Two holes open ahead of the group in front of us ALL DAY. The ranger passed us three times and we complained EVERY time. Way have a ranger if he does NOTHING?

Not worth the money
Terrible pace of play. They jammed foursome after foursome so you would hit and wait 10 minutes. You could never get any rhythm. We had 3 foursome on every hole. We asked the ranger and he just said we are busy. It took us 5 hours to play 14 holes and we just gave up After that and left. It could be nice if they spaced the groups out some. I will never play this course again.
Excellent playability
Played with two friends and then joined by a single. Play is as fast as the greens. Lots of water and bunkers. Ball placement is important .Every thing was on time. Friendly staff, new carts, clean.
