There 5 some a nd 6 some so pace of play very slow. This is very good course and good layout too bad that poor management on the course. We play 4 some and finish the round in 5 hours we tee off at 6 am thats very bad pace of play
Progress
Greens are definitely getting better but still not great. I’d like to see some water be filled in the areas where water should be. I’ve heard talks about it for awhile now but not seeing any progress. The course is definitely improving in the right direction but has the potential to be a top course in the high desert. I look forward to playing many more rounds her and look forward to the improvements.
Absolutely beautiful course. Fairways are in perfect condition. Greens were soft and slow but great shape.
Can’t wait to play there again!
Course is is good Shape!
Course was in very good condition and pace of play was good for a Sunday - Hadn't been there in about five years but hope to get back again much sooner than than
Worth the drive
There was gusty winds that day and we had to course to ourselves. The layout was quite nice and just a 45 minute drive from Rancho Cucamonga. Definitely will play here again.
Squirrels
Played with Rick and Dave in @ 3:30 ish, nice guys. Fairways in pretty good shape, greening up well. Rough is rough in places, good in others. LOADS of ground squirrels and holes everywhere, presumably lost a ball down a hole in the middle of the fairway on the back 9.
Greens...... what to say about them? They were punched 4-5 weeks ago, ran ok the first couple of weeks, 3 was ago still had sand in holes. Last week was abysmal, no sand, no cut, no roller. This week, better than last but still close to auto 2 putts. Not cut or rolled for at least 2 days. In their defense, it looked like they had lost a lot of tree limbs , etc from a wind storm a couple of days prior, still bits of wood, bark and debris near many cottonwoods.
All in all, a fun day, but would wait a couple mire weeks till the greens recover
Hesperia Golf Club
First time playing Hesperia and I enjoyed it. Nice layout with wide fairways with some doglegs mixed in, but stray shots can definitely find trouble. Fairways were decent and the greens were nice. There was no cart girl driving around but I prepared for that so it wasn't an issue. Great pace as I was able to finish in under 4 hours. Only negative I had was I had no network connection on my phone so I couldn't use my Grint app. Overall a good experience!!
Course was fun to play.
Played $50 weekend. Course was very open not too many players. Finished within 4 hours. Only think i can think of is greens were punched out but i'm sure it will get recovered within couple of months. Would go and play again and if someone or club house can upload latest 18 holes. Current youtube video is out dated where you only see dirt not grass.
Mature Course, with character!
Love the mature trees. The course was fair and challenging.
Good pace
Played with two beginners and had a Funtime. Pace was great and the Staff was very friendly.
Great course
Such a great course for the price. Could use some more amenities and snack bar accessibility. Other than that, it’s 10/10 for the price and being in the HD!
Hidden gem
Walked the Blues (6756/71.8/126) in 4H early morning. 1 hour frost delay, it was a brisk 42 when we teed off, but warmed up into the high 50's by the end. Matched up with Mike and Joe, very friendly guys to be matched up with. $28 Sr. rate to walk on a Sunday I thought was excellent.
Old school Parkland layout that hosted the PGA Tour 60+ years ago. Lots of mature trees, some washes and 18 good holes of golf. Mostly flat with many holes that slightly turn, but few true doglegs. Easily one of the better very mature course layouts that I have played for the first time in awhile. Hidden gem!
While the layout was ++, the conditions were playable but far from pristine. Tees, Fairways and Rough were all winter thin and could use divot repair. This would be a fantastic course if it was over seeded.
Only thing worth commenting on negatively were the traps, they were poor. Mud/dirt I could deal with. Every trap having hundreds of anything from pebbles to rocks large enough to skip on a pond was not.
Old school greens. No tiers and they often dropped off to the sides. The putted MUCH better than they looked, lots of blotchy colors. They were spongy but still medium fast, and downhill was fast. More ball marks than their should be, and they held irons well.
Busy range was off mats. Customer service outstanding. Called ahead and was advised about the frost delay. Given the Sr. rate and they got me out in the 3rd group. Friendly, on the ball starter. If I lived closer, this course would definitely be in my rotation. It mentions on the card that the course record of 62 was set in the 1959 Hesperia Open, which believe it or not was a PGA event. Pics of Palmer, Snead, Player etc. Interesting that Hesperia in 1959 could have hosted the PGA Tour? Recommended, fun course.
Course layout
This course is a challenge I like it so when I play other course they seem easier
