Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Going downhill

Used to be a better golf course. Losing grass on portions of the greens. Greens are very inconsistent. Fairways are also lacking consistent grass. Overall a course in decline. Probably needs a new owner to put the capital needed to make this an average facility

This course was and is a blast to play. Smooth flow of play. Gorgeous weather . BUT they recently punched the greens and so they were very rough. 3putts were a thing today . Dry and potted and tough to make any putts. We would not have spent the money had we have known . Next time we will check

Green Issues

Aerated greens, not enough sand in the aerated holes, had the sprinkler system turned on us for 6 holes at 1pm??? We were advised they have a new green sleeper so we look forward to a better experience and course in the future

Great course slow play

Great windy day course. Played it 3 times now this year. Always seems to play slow. Was so slow last round we skipped 4 holes on the front to get around a five sum that was holding up a number of groups. After missing those 4 holes it was like we were only ones on course and very enjoyable!

Totally Disappointed

The course layout is very short but challenging fairways to hit from the tees. Some very narrow. Greens rolling somewhere at 7 or 8. Extremely slow and shaggy. rough carpet like conditions. Worst of all was pace of play. 4 group back up by the 6th hole. No reason, just too many twosomes out and too many people with no course Marshall. Made for a miserable 5+ hour round. Pace + course conditions = no return.

we quit after 9 holes...

While the staff was very helpful and friendly, the play was quite slow and the course is very tight. The greens and fairways were marginal condition. Not planning to play there again.

Aim for the pin baby!

Some holes were narrow and a couple were more narrow. Lots of roll due to dry desert conditions. We had a hard time reading the greens. Most were not the speed we thought they would be. I don’t think it is a difficult course but you do have to hit it straight. I would play this course again but only as a local.

Too crowded. They allow too many people on. Took 2 hours to play 3 holes and left.

Shouldn’t take 2 hrs to play 3 holes.
