Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Good day out

The guys in the clubhouse worked to get us out on the back nine first as there was a group locking up the front nine. The range is hitting off mats, not able to use driver. But otherwise a good cool day for golf in Vegas.

Rentals were steep at $65 per set. The putter provided is very clunky and tough to putt with.

The course wasn’t maintained well at all. Many dead spots in the fairways and the greens were beat up badly with ball mark spots.

Short track with character

Played from the whites at only 5500 yards but still a fun challenge. Some rough spots on the fairways made for some tight lies but wasn’t too bad. I’d play again. Don’t really need driver a lot with a lot of 300-330 yard holes but a good place to place “target golf”

Desert Pines Stands out

The staff makes this course the reason for it's success. It's winter, they didn't overseed and yet the place is great.

Nice course, nice staff

I actually played this course at 7:54 am on New Year's Day, but there was an hour frost delay. I also used their facilities to take a shower, but they were not expecting people to actually use their showers. No lights were working and the water was barely on, let alone hot. But I managed. Played with two nice guys and they gave me recommendations for other courses in Las Vegas. Next time I would look for a little cheaper rate.

Great course and layout. Better bring your accurate clubs off the tee box.

First time golfing in Vegas and it was a great time. Great layout and excellent conditions, especially in late December. Couldn’t ask for more. Used rental clubs and was happy with them.

There can be some very tight fairways so be careful when tying to kill your tee shot over accuracy. Would definitely go again and recommend.

Nice layout and the staff was very friendly. Greens were a little choppy and hallmark fixing is not a priority.

Nice course

On many holes you have to hit it straight otherwise you'll be in the trees or on the other fairway and have to go over the trees to get back on the hole you were playing. They have holes that water comes into play on your approach shots to the green.

This is a great course to play.

Better & Greener Than Expected

Desert Pines is a fun course with an interesting layout. The course is not long. However, it has great mountain and Vegas Strip views. There is a nice amount of water throughout the course which adds to the beauty.

Fairways are nice but tight, and the ruff is just that.

Greens were very fast and rolled great (be cautions with the speed).

I was a lil concerned because the course look so brown on some pictures. But it's greener than expected and a beauty of a course for the price. A pleasant surprise for me during a vacation on Thanksgiving break.
