About
Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Excellent. Value
Close to town makin it easy for out of town era using taxi. Good use of limited space, all inclusive made for excellent value overall .
Horrid shape
I played this course years ago and I remember it being a fun track so I booked the tee time when visiting Vegas. The course is in horrid condition, the fairways are often dirt and in a few greens there are 6 to 9 inch holes of dirt right in the middle of them for some reason. Other than the few holes, the greens rolled pretty well, although a little slow…i would guess about an 8 or 9.
The biggest problem is the price that they’re trying to gouge you for playing this course in this condition. if they’re going through some maintenance issues, then they should bring the price down to 100 bucks at best.
Dry & Dusty
Other than the greens and tee boxes the grass was dead and in many areas the ground was as hard as concrete. Yes I get that it’s the desert but is there some reason that there is no watering of fairways?
I’m generally not critical in my reviews but this course could be so much better with a bit of maintenance and watering. Sorry.

We love it here!
Desert Pines is one of our favorite places to play. The staff is always super friendly, the carts are nice, and even on busy days the place of play moves along. One of the few more affordable courses in Las Vegas that isn’t carved between houses.

Not worth the money if you are an out of towner
Grass is in terrible shape. Course is a dogtrack and not nice. Not worth the money. I even played okay, and everything was bad.

Don’t play
The course is really overpriced, the clubs are $90 to rent and are really beat up. Unbelievable amount of trash. The greens are really beat up and the sand traps on the course are horrible.

terrible course
The pictures on GN site are very misleading. Only the greens were green. The fairways and aprons were sprayed green - it would come off on your ball. All the greens were full of ball marks and goose dung. There were no fountains - just gross ponds full of garbage, plastic bags, debris etc. - we would not retrieve balls from the water. There was only one person working the proshop AND the concession. There was no dining/food available. Had we not prepaid, we would have baled. Sad

Very Poor Condition
Course was not worth the money. Very poor condition from the fairways to the bunkers to the rough. Greens were average, but were the best part of the course.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Driving range old and dated. You hit off mats onto dirt. Only had four yardage markers, but no signage as to what yardage they were.
I played it the first year it was open; it was great then. Has really gone down hill

On its way out?
Word is this course is closing soon and if it is then it makes sense what is happening. This used to be a well kept Pete Dye gem in the middle of town now its below Municipal level. Do not waste your money unless your paying under 30 bucks because there are other places to throw your money at. Grass is dead and painted, facilities are ramshackle and only a glimmer of what they used to be. Staff was nice. We played on a day where it was cold and raining so not many playing. Truly sad what has happened.

Poor condition
Course was in poor condition. Almost no grass and trash in many side bushes.
