Some target golf on rough terrain
Desperado is a target 9 loaded with blind shots. it's fairly short but the discontinuous fairways require one to lay up off the tee. Outlaw was more traditional but still short. Two holes stand out as poor designs. Number .7 on Despardo - blind shot to narrow fairway and then a blind shot to a narrow green with no bail out. Number 9 on outlaw is probably the worst design for I par 5 that I have encountered. Approaching the green is a sliver of a fairway next to a lake from 150 yards out with the ground sloping to a concrete lined pond. Ugly and poor design.
Good course in Northern Vegas
Got a good deal to play Badlands so figured I'd give it a shot. Hadn't played in a couple of months and Badlands offered a good course for me to return. Not overly difficult, but still required good shot making and thinking through each hole. Greens were in good condition as was the rest of the course. Would definitely play again if I can get out there this summer.

Funky Layout within a rocky gulley

Badlands GC - Diablo/Outlaw
Many desert courses are designed to be target style tracks and the 27 holes at Badlands certainly falls into that "target style" category as slivers of fairways and greens are threaded through craggy barranca. Course management combined with good shot making will lead to good scores. Challenging, fun course.
This review is based on a golf vacation to Las Vegas back in Feb/2011. (disappointing to see recent reviews that say the course has deteriorated as I really enjoyed the challenge/conditioning of it during my round in Feb/2011)

Fun but first time tough
Nice course to play. Condition was good considering the time of year. Bunkers had some rocks it them. There are a few odd holes that you don't know where to hit if it's your first time playing. Did not have layout on the card or gps! Not bad for hot deal price.

I can't recommend this course.
They are not to take care of the green.
Lot of ducks soil in near by green area.
I don't want go this place any more.

Great layout, greens on the Desperado 9 almost unplayable
This is a challenging course that runs you through many arroyos/ mini canyons and such. Overall, nice design. The Desperado 9 on this day however, saw greens with ridiculous speeds on them. Since they tilt heavily front to back, getting above the hole was an absolute guarantee of your putt going back into the fairway. Maybe 15 or 16 is just too high on the stimp for greens with that much slope. Still like the course though.......

Great track
A little short so play the blues or blacks if you hit it longer than average. 16 is a monster - take advantage of local knowledge. Bets three finishing holes I've played in a long time.

Very Scenic Golf Challenge
Overall a great day on a lovely course. Loved the positional golf where driver was not required on all par 4's and 5's. All holes were unique with views of surrounding mountains. Homes around course were not in play.
Greens were fast and true but ball marks left many irregularities.

Quality outing
I've played a lot of top courses and I found this to be a good challenge, nice layout and amenities good.
Convenient to get to from the Strip with rental car and good value for the money.

The Diablo is difficult!
We played the Outlaw and Diablo. The Outlaw was a fun 9 holes but we found the Diablo to be quite a bit more difficult. The greens seemed to be a little too undulating and the pins were not located in flat areas for the most part.
Bunkers need more sand in them.
Lots of harmless wildlife!

Rough conditions
Fairways were wet, sparse grass much of it dormant and thin
Greens were bumpy
An ok track but I expect more for my money

Tough, beautiful, target golf course! Played Diable + Desperado combo and man, Desperado is a targer golf, iron play should be sharp! Will definitely come back on my next trip!
