There is no ranger and the course does a TERRIBLE job of scheduling tee times and managing pace of play.
We waited on EVERY hole for at least two groups. It took 2 and 1/2 hours to play nine holes! We left after nine, although we had paid for 18, because we would not have finished before dark. I spoke with staff about this and they just shrugged their shoulders. Don't play here unless you want to spend an entire day visiting with people! You could do that far cheaper at a cafe or bar rather than paying golf fees to wait on every hole.
Very Bad Experience
No carts available, slow play, let singles out/walkers, constantly having balls shot into us.
Sporty Course
This course is short with smaller contoured greens. Built long ago when green speeds were much slower they can be dangerous if you are pin high or above. It’s not a Ross course, but green structure and traps are similar. Great course to test your wedge play. People will look at the yardage and think it’s easy. There are pins you don’t play to, and if you miss you will pay. If you want to step into what golf really is about, not just a distance contest, this course will test your accuracy. I found this course to be enjoyable. Pace of play was 3:45 on a very busy day. It’s not a country club, it’s a muni, but I found the conditions very reasonable for the traffic.
weather
played 8 holes then was winded 74 mph and rain sleeted out. No time to get rain check on vacatin time.
6 hour round
I’ve been playing this course for 40 years and the way the course is being run currently is the worst I’ve seen. The last three times I’ve played I haven’t finished due to pace of play. They herd you out like cattle, tee time is always 20-30 minutes behind schedule and I’m not talking frost delay. It used to be a bargain as it should be... it’s a municipal course but they charge as much as some of the nicer courses in town. Range balls from the 80’s tee boxes not level and closing the bathrooms while there is still over 100 people on the course. Get it together Muni! I miss my old home course!
Nice course for the money but SLOW pace
Course was in decent shape but pace was not good and got worse throughout the round. Bathrooms and bar were closed and locked by the time we finished (at 515ish)????.
Short course but still challenging
The greens were very receptive, moist and not dried out. The fairways were very forgiving, even shots to other fairways are playable. It's very straightforward course and short, even from the tips. The staff was great and we moved along very quickly. Compared to other reviews, I guess I hit it on a good day. I'll play again. A downside is, the course runs along roads, sometimes jerks honk their horn in your backswing. Try not to let that get into your head.
Great course
Good course not very undulating but still good and decent. Made great memories with my son
Las Vegas Muni
Something of a typical big city muni: a large square land area, holes running adjacent to each other, flat, non-descript. This course plays easy compared to most others in the valley -- if you spray your drives, you're not in desert trouble, but rather playing off grass. Some trees and bunkers, but overall not much threat of trouble. The pro-shop seems to have a little trouble getting groups off on time. The pace was ok at 4:15 for 18 holes. Greens, fairways, teeboxes, all in decent shape. Never saw a beverage cart. Could use another porta-jon on the back 9. This course was easy and relaxing to play.
Fun and easy course
Course conditions were good. Greens were ok but could be better. Starter was arguing with a golfer at the first tee box over stupid situations that should have been handled privately with the golfer involved. Sounded kind of unprofessional to me. Not a great way to start a round, especially when new golfers are at the tee. This is a game of respect.
LV Club
We teed off almost 25 minutes late due to back up and waiting on carts. Pace moved OK overall with only a couple bottlenecks. Took 4 hours to play and we finished 18 with very little light. The course was very busy and I am guessing it was Men's Club playing as I didn't see any tee times available earlier then the 12:42 I got. Course was okay, but I thought the greens were a little slow. Fairly open so I think that is why pace of play was OK despite being real busy.
Course cart vendor
The only time, in a four and a half hour round I saw the drink cart was at the 1st tee. Very busy today and the cart could have made a great deal of money with plenty of golfers and slow play.
Lack of organization.
We were warned. There are many poor reviews of this course which were so bad I didn’t believe them. Well, I believe them now. As soon. As we checked in we were told we would be delayed due to “golfers being sent out in single carts due to covid.” Never saw anyone in a single cart. Next, golfers were waiting outside the pro shop door waiting to be called but what was happening was folks were jumping the line whenever a cart showed up. Unchallenged. The cart guys never asked anyone when their tee time was. I was told that “was for the guy sitting in the pro shop.” So I went in the pro shop to see where we were on the list and was told my cart would show up “soon.” Takeaway? Not
Enough carts in hand. Covid used as an excuse. No waiting list established. Poor coordination. Poor organization. The military has a term for this-a cluster (you know the rest). 45 minutes late getting the cart. Finished in semi-darkness. Just a bad experience marked by lack of consideration for customers. Cheap operation all around.
Never again.
