About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Golfer Reviews
The worst rudest staff of all time!
The guy out in your parking lot that is you supposed starter is one of the worst human beings on planet earth! I have never need treated so rudely in my life! The guy was a complete jerk because I told him I had just made my reservation an hour ago on this app. He told me I don’t know what I’m talking about and that I wasn’t on his list so I’m not playing there that day. I went in to complain in the pro shop, and a pretty nice guy short where’s glasses, and said his name was Dave. He told me I wasn’t the first to complain about him, but no one does anything. He assured me that someone would call me, but no one has. I left this review which was from a round on Jan 5th to today the 26th! I figure 3 weeks is enough time for a manager who cares to call me. I guess I was wrong! Be warned, I live 5 minutes from this place and I play here 3 times a year and every time is worst than the last! They should just sell it off, it’s obvious they don’t care about their customers!
Mr
Nice 3.5 hour round fairways are hard as a rock though
Nice course and pro shop staff
I would recommend. We had a good time and many thanks for the help in both the pro shop and starter.
Careless staff. Took FOREVER to play
We had a noon tee time which we figured would allow us plenty of time to finish. Upon arriving at the course, we were told they had frost delays in the morning and were still running behind. If frost delays were in the morning, why wouldn’t they alternate front and back nine to get caught up???
Instead, we were forced to wait and didn’t tee off until closer to 1. There was NO starter and NOBODY on the course monitoring pace of play We waited on EVERY hole and finished in the dark. We won’t be going back to this course.
Requires course management
From arrival at pro shop and dealing with friendly staff the start of the experience helps get the round started. Course condition and layout are great. Layout forces you to consider and reconsider club choice fue to properties lining the course as well as managing the holes that require the ego and driver to remain in the bag. Very much enjoyed the round and the course and it’s amenities. Price point was great when based on booking through golf now. Would recommend.this course.
Fun course to play
It was a fun course to play, a little tighter than some, but overall a good experience and value. Had a great time with the locals I played with, and staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Good Course - needs some TLC
Overall I liked the course. The course was in very good shape. Playing out of the desert is tough!!! Cart paths & sand traps need some love.
Hi
Don’t understand why first and 9th hole were completely lush and par 3’s were lush entire hole. But fairways were good. Green are great.
SRM
Have played this course a few times this year. Much better play since they over seeded. Still can't understand the 7 minute start times as, inevitably, the play gets a little backed up. Not bad this time (4hrs - 20 mins) but last time was almost 5 hours. I've never seen a Marshall on the course to move play along. Might be something to look into. All-in-all a good bet to play for a nice day of golf!
Nice course for the value on GolfNow.com
Had a hole in one but it was my second shot.I also though Johnny the supervisor working on that hole signed my card since he was my witness on that hole.My wife didn't see from her golf cart since she was far away from tee boxn so Johnny was the only one saw my shot n but it was my second ball on that green but getting in that hole was still marvelous n shocking for me n saw it go in the hole from my tee box too.Exciting n lucky to get hole after my first shot got in the water .So I re-tee it with the same club n put more gusto on my swing n got before the green n bounce one time n it started to go towards the hole n went in afterwards n said it went in n I threw my golf club in the air n screams it went in n had a hole in one but instead a par but still amazing since never ever done that in my entire life either. So it was unique n shocking at the same time too.
makes for long drives!
