Painted Desert Golf Club
About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Great experience
Very nice place. Friendly staff. Course in great shape. Greens very nice. Great value! Will defiantly play here again!
Are you open... At all.
This is a review of the communication with the course as I haven’t played it yet. I live close and will use this as a practice facility to hit a quick bucket of balls when I don’t have a lot of time. This morning I tried to call to find out if they were open from the over-seeding and the phone just rings and rings and rings and rings. I would expect that they would have some sort of answering service at least saying hey we’re still closed for over-seeding. “We open ...”
Also, their website is not updated as to the over-seeding schedule. At least from what I could see on my phone through the Arcis advertisement. The website does link to their Facebook and Twitter. Besides being an excellent place to find right wing conspiracy theories this would be a good place that you could quickly and easily post the schedule for over-seeding and when you’re going to be open and closed. Theirs has not been touched since July 3.
poor course conditions
Painted desert was in very poor condition. there was no grass on the fairways and the tee boxes were almost unsafe to play because there was no grass and we constantly getting sprayed with the sprinkler system when were teeing off.. we were not told about the reseeding process they were doing. normally the course is in pretty good shape. However to pay full price for a course the is pretty much unplayable from the fairway is unacceptable.
Not in good shape.
Staff is great, clubhouse and amenities are good, greens are in good condition. Tee boxes and fairways are in bad shape. looks like there getting ready to do there over seeding.
This course desperately needs a renovation. The cart paths are terrible to say the least I have bruises on my hip from the cart paths. They also need bathrooms centrally located. The course is going into the reseed phase so maybe it will be better after that. There was no starter on a Sunday which shocked me so we just started ourselves.
Dry
Course is about burned up on fairways. Almost no grass.
Lowest Score Ever!
Perfect day, shot my lowest score ever. Course is well designed but showing its age. Tee boxes were dead, cart paths need to be redone badly. Some greens damaged and lots of dead grass.
Biggest problem was the old foursome in front of us who were slower than dirt. Fell at least 2 holes behind groups ahead of them and wouldnt let us play through.
Overall, the day and my score msde it worth it!
Always a fun course
I really enjoy this desert course. But it is brutal if you don't stay on the grass. A few fairways are NARROW with houses hugging the fairways. When the grass stops, the native hard desert takes over. I am playing nearly near clubs. I soured a very pretty 6 iron hitting off the hard surface. But the course is a true desert course. There is a good mix of risk reward short holes and some bomber holes. Fun course.
Great course, will be back soon.
Found a great deal on Golfnow and decided to give this course a try. Upon arrival easy to find clubhouse, friendly started welcomed me to the course. When walking into clubhouse was greeted with another warm welcome and check in was fast. Gave me a huge bucket to practice and personally showed me where 1st tee, and driving range were located. Course was great! Some cartpaths that need serious repair besides that, you will love this course. Live in Henderson but would drive anyday to Painted Desert. These guys have it right!!!
Tee boxes need work at black tees. Other than that, course is in good shape.
Course
Course is maintained extremely well. Check in was fast friendly. Ladies in clubhouse were super nice. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone.
