About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Nice course but...
Excellent course but lacked golf carts. Players were waiting for other golfers to finish their rounds so that golf carts could be used. Tee times fell behind which caused us to not be able to finish our round on account of darkness.
Painted dessert strikes again
Range closed again. Glad I got all my stuff out, shoes on and ready to go. Balls all over the range. Not a single sign anywhere saying the range is closed.
Yuk
course in poor shape. Lots of weeds and dead grass. Slow greens and ugly mounds of dirt everywhere. House right on top of players. The cart girl was very nice. No chipping area either and the range is a mix of green and dirt. Absolute waste of $100
Friendly staff
Maria at the bar was superb. Food was great. General manager Bryan went out of his way to greet me and make sure all was good. Great day at Painted Desert
Pleasant round
Beautiful day greatpacd of play on a well groomed course with excellent greens
Only complaint is all of the Golf carts were extremely dirty. Kinda surprised. Normally in good condition. Coarse is Beautiful.
First Timer
The course was in the final stages of over seeding so it was cart path only. Not a terrible thing since the fairways are narrow. However, the tee boxes and fairways were whisspy. I really didn’t have an issue other than that. One really good thing is the course is laid out so any first timer can find their way to the next hole.
Cons- the cart paths are wrecked. The golf carts are dated and have no GPS. No starter so it’s the honor system.
Overall I liked it and would play again. Just would pay more attention.
Fairway and greens in excellent shape. Paired up with locals who had great attitudes! Staff at bar was the best!
