About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Fun Round
Tight fairways make you think carefully about club selection. Greens are in top shape, true on the read.
Very nice Circuit
Only drawback was the cart path condition. Lots of raised or missing sections of concrete.
Painted
Good pace nice views. Free a consistent. Good value a few areas need a little work but that’s every coarse out there. But nice staff and coarse. Tip em. They do a good job.
Nice course
its a great course for the price range. Pacw today was just under 4 hours. Cart paths are awful but everything else is good

Wonderful desert gem.
Played here today and was impressed with the quality of the course. The gems were very playable ands divot free. The fairways cut exactly from hole to hole, the rough very forgiving. You really couldn't ask for a nicer chose to play. Breezed thru 18 in about 3 hours 15 minutes. Incredible.
Rye guy review
Course played well. Pace of play was good in the AM. Greens need rolled, ball hops a bit on longer putts, good overall speed. Fairway and tee boxes were in good shape.
I'd rate this course a 4.5 if the cart paths weren't such a mess. I'm sure it would be expensive but long over due in many places on the course.
Good news/bad news
Bad news first, range balls are absolutely terrible, no pop can’t even see the dimples on the range balls they’re so old. Such a Rady practice range.
Good news staff is very friendly, pace is excellent, fairways in good condition. I have played all over Las Vegas during this. Our golf course is re-opening, painted desert has the best greens, roll good and consistent, if you hit a good shotTo the green you will be rewarded with the ball bites and stays on the green. The greens are soft, but fast and consistent, right now best greens in the valley.
Great layout.
Played in the am and had no problems with anything or anyone. The staff is fantastic, the course is in great shape and the layout is awesome. Some difficult holes and some GO for it holes. Pace of play was awesome. Finished in just under four holes. For the price the value is worth every dollar.
Nice course
Course puts a premium on accuracy. Consequently playing time can be a bit slow if player’s are searching for stray balls. Tees and greens were great. A few worn spots in the fairways.
