About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

A true Review
Tee boxes are nice, ( need to remove the grass after cutting them.) Fairways are in nice shape,will need a cutting since last overseed. Greens are very slow, some in good shape,some in not so good of shape. Still one temporary green. Bunkers are in good shape. Nice sand. Cart paths are brutal. Great layout, staff if pretty friendly. Cart girl showed up about 3 or 4 times. ( not used to that.)

For $55 it’s okay but the greens are horrific. Bumpy, sandy and very slow. Fairways are fine.

They need to repair all the green also on fairway

Terrible pace of play, no rain check
6 groups ahead of us on a single hole on hole 6, 2 groups ahead of us on every other hole. Gave up after 3.5 hours at hole 12, told no rain check since we played more than 9. Unbelievable nonsense from this course. Also 3 temporary greens and the rest of the greens were terrible.

Nice course, bad conditions
Extremely hot weather dried out the course tremendously. Temp greens were very bad, only a few greens were in good shape.

Good shape for the money
Course is in great shape for end of year and the price. A few greens under repair, no biggie. But a few more weeks til prime conditions if not sooner .

Very messed up greens
Sand traps should actually have sand

The course not in good shape.
In general fairways has several bald spit. The greens very slow and has infestation. Several holes had a makeshift greens. The cart path still uneven. This is not the same painted desert from several years ago.

Greens are worst in town!
3 Greens are temporary, cut into the fairway grass. Several other greens are in horrible condition too.
Even the practice green is closed.
They should at least post an advisory to let players know what to expect.

Poor greens
I have played this many times over the last 2 years and I have never seen the greens in this kind of poor condition. 5 or 6 greens at least are completely unplayable and have many patches of dead grass kn them. There must be some sort of disease that has attacked certain greens bc they are not all like that. Some are actually in good shape just a little slow but others are just an automatic 2 putt and move on.
I love the layout and staff but if they can’t figure this out I will not be back to play even for $45. Too many other courses in area with better predictable conditions.

Greens are trash
Usually I would agree the greens are pretty good. Nope! Worst I have ever seen them. Absolutely terrible
