About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

This course for this summer heat looked great! Now they did have a few tee boxes and greens that needed a little help. It was still in good conditions.

needs work
this course needs some work, the greens were rough with patches everywhere. Fairway looks like is got burnt by the sun since its hot as he77 here.

Decent day out
Course was in decent shape for mid summer. Couple of burnt spots here and there, greens were decent l. Play got pretty backed up after 9 but I was in no hurry, still out in 4.5 hours

Beat by heat
Pretty easy to get a tee time. Employees are pretty friendly. Course is pretty burnt up. Fairways and greens. Tee boxes are full of fresh cut grass. We had to put the tee markers
on most of the tee boxes. Cart paths need alot of work. It's going to take a few months to get it back into decent shape. See you in October.

Not great !!!
Dead spots in the fairways and on the greens, we were taking relief to enjoy our round.
You can't call them bunkers, there is no sand, more like concrete, and filled with rocks and pebbles. Certain holes around the driving range had hundreds of range balls on the fairways and in the bunkers, took forever to locate your ball. No yardage markers on the fairways, you needed to go back to the cart path to get yardages, who does that? Not worth the price.

Painted Desert GC
I really enjoyed this course. Fairways were easy enough to hit and greens fairly large. If i had any complaints it would be that the greens were really slow. Im used to much faster putting conditions

Considering the extreme heat the course held up well.
The tee boxes and greens were in great shape. Several fairways had dead grass bare spots but considering the heat wave we were pleasantly surprised. We will play here again next time we are in the area.

Poor shape
Course is burnt. Fairways are hard pan/ mud. Greens were similar to putting on carpet - slow and bumpy.
I’ll try it again 6-12 months.
