About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Needs a little TLC
I love Painted Desert. It's always been a great course, and due to the 107 heat, I had the course to myself this day!
One minor critique: a few of the big trees along the gold cart path were overgrown and they were the kind of trees with big needles. So it was a little dangerous getting my cart through without getting poked with the needles. Also, some of the green hazards were more overgrown than intended, which should also be better maintained.

Nice course but slow
I took my wife here for her birthday. The course is definitely a 4.0-4.5 star course but our 5:20 round was nearly unbearable. We played with two locals who said it was very uncommon.

long for fwd tees over 5600 yards
course plays very long as fairways are not cut down. other than that, I enjoyed it.

Great greens
Always enjoy playing here. Cart Paths are bad but that’s it. Course was in good condition and the greens were great.

Unhappy Customer of Golf Pass
Gold Pass asks for my review for a round that was cancelled!! we were watching the weather all week. I checked the weather at 2am the night before play, and it looked ok. However, when we got up at 6am the weather was horrible, so we cancelled at the very last possible time due to weather conditions. Golf Pass refund policy is 24 hours out; no consideration for weather. They are not refunding our $$ for 3 tee times. Will not use Golf Pass again, nor will I recommend them. .

Great course!
The course is definitely for intermediate to advanced players and I was frustrated because my level is not there yet. There are houses very close to the fairways so you have to be careful.
It’s very easy to lose balls if you’re not a skilled player. The staff is very friendly and their prices are great from tees fees to beverages at the bar.

Over priced and unoriginal
Given the price of green fee’s, we expected a better layout and a more manicured course. The course has not been maintained. The bunkers are unplayable and filled with rocks the size of golf balls. The 9th hole is open to the driving range and is covered with range balls, presenting a safety hazard. If you are paying more than $50 a green fee you will be disappointed.
At best, this is an average municipal golf course and should not be sought out as a golf destination. We were disappointed that the reviews did not accurately depict this course. For the same cost you can play Angel Park and have a amazing golfing experience.

Good view!
Course was well maintained with nice views. If you have a fade or draw, might not find the very tight fairways.
