Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Nice course, close to strip
Nice course, close to strip which makes it convenient when staying on the strip. Great staff. Will definitely play again.
Nice round
Played 18 holes today course is in nice shape and played 18 in 3.5 hours. Staff was friendly carts are new plenty of refreshments on course recommend this course.
Thanks for coming out to Las Vegas National, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. And thanks for the four stars!
Thanks for the 4-star rating, Lillie. We're glad you enjoyed your time with us at Las Vegas National. Come see us again soon!
Great Value in Las Vegas
We played here for a bachelor’s party. We were looking for a good balance between price and quality. Las Vegas National was just that. The round was under $100, the course has tons of history, and the conditions were good for the price range. The layout was great and you could really tell it used to host a professional tournament. It has a classic course feel, but you get some nice strip views on several holes and also some views of the mountains on others. I would definitely recommend it and would play it again.
Thanks for the 5-star review! There's no place quite like Vegas for a bachelor party, we're glad you enjoyed your time with us at Las Vegas National. Come see us again sometime!
Great Value
Had. 1:20 tee time. Got sent off at 1 pm. Weather was perfect. Staff was great. For being the first good weather we’ve seen here, I felt Course was in great condition. Greens were firm yet responsive. If I had to nit pick, the tee boxes could use some grooming. Course lay out is primarily pretty flat, but great use of bunkers and water. For the $40 local rate, I have no complaints for a smooth round on a Saturday. I will definitely return.
Thanks for the great review, Ben. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Las Vegas National. Be sure to book another round with us soon!
Near by and decent layout
Stay in the fairway to get decent shot to the flag. Overall good quality price ratio
No wonder I never have decent shots at the flag... Glad to hear you enjoyed your round, come see us again soon!
Hard to Believe This Ever Hosted a Tournament
This course is terribly maintained and extremely overpriced. The greens were fairly nice, but the rest of the course was awful. Trash in the rough and waterways along with very scarce, patchy rough. This may have hosted PGA events in the past, but it is FAR from being at that level anymore.
We're sorry to hear your experience at Las Vegas National was anything less than 5 stars, Brett. We're working hard to ensure optimum playing conditions for all our guests. We hope you'll give us another chance soon!
Friendly
Overall the course was very good, staff were friendly, course condition was good. It's a lot more challenging then it appears. My only negative is the pace of play. No enforcement by the Marshalls.
Pace of play is a top priority, so we're sorry to hear that you ran into issues on the course. Glad to hear you enjoyed your round, be sure to book another soon!
Good Course Close to Strip
Coming to Vegas I was hoping to enjoy the weather and get a decent round in. Pace of play was abysmal, but everything else was pretty good, can't be too picky. Quick Uber from the strip. Easy and good quality rentable clubs. Check golfnow for best offers.
Thank you for leaving us a very nice four-star review! We're so pleased that you enjoyed your round despite the slower play, which we understand can be frustrating. We hope you'll return for another round next time you're in town.
Challenging and Rewarding
Great course, wonderful staff, friendly and welcoming environment. One of my most enjoyable courses. Thank you
Thank you for the wonderfully kind words and five stars, Lenn! We always enjoy having you.
Lots of History
As a past PGA tour stop there is lots of history here and signs from time to time to tell the stories. I enjoyed that and wandering around the trophy area between the clubhouse and the restaurant. Not a particularly long course....other than the par 3's (X5) all seemed to playing 185 yards, or more. Winds were gusting up to at least 25 mph, so it made those holes even more interesting. Lots of bunkers protecting the greens which were running slow, but true. 5 minute drive from the strip - great for a quick fix!
We're so pleased that you enjoy the historical elements of our course and the natural challenges of our layout. Thank you taking the time time to leave us a great four-star review!
Left disappointed
This was third round in 3 days of a golf trip. This was the most expensive of the 3 and ranked well below the other 2 courses we played. Nothing special about the course. Greens were in good shape, bunkers could use more sand as they were quite hard. $1 beer after the round was a nice touch!
Thank you for providing very helpful feedback! We're sorry to hear that you weren't overly impressed with your experience with us. We will pass along your feedback to our management staff.
We played Primm Valley - Desert (bought a Groupon which I think is still available) and Boulder Creek - Desert Hawk/Coyote. See my reviews for these. I also played Chimera a few years back, and it was very nice as well.
Would you recommend any other courses? We are arriving in 3 weeks time.
Thank you for leaving us five stars!
Residency
Well I wanted to play this course, but they thought I wasn’t being truthful about my residency. Recently transferred from CA and don’t have anything other than my purchase contract for my primary residence and they wouldn’t take that. I mean come on, I’m a single trying to play - use some common sense here.
We apologize for any inconvenience our proof of residency rule caused. We hope you will decide to give us another try in the future.
Nice course
Well worth the play. Course was in great shape for winter conditions. Greens were well maintained and pace was outstanding thanks to having a Host on the course. Staff was courteous, helpful and professional. Highly recommend this course.
Beat up
Greens were ok. Tees and fairways were pretty beat up. Definitely a municipal type course. If you get a good deal, then it’s fine.
Very nice course
Staff was great and ensure all golfers got off at their scheduled Tee Times. Course is in great shape and pace of play was well within expected time. Enjoyed the round and highly recommend this course.
Bad tee off delay
It's a beautiful course. This is is my 3rd time playing here, but today I teed off at 12pm. I arrived at around 11am and got a small bucket of balls since I wanted to chip and putt as well. When i checked in at the front desk it seemed all normal. But when when I got to the starter at 11:50 he said there would be a 1 hour delay due to frost, why couldn't the person at the front desk tell me that? When I talked to Leo, the director of golf. He made me feel like it was my fault and that I have options of playing at other courses. Hmmm, maybe he doesn't appreciate his customers?
We're glad you enjoyed your time at LVN, Luis! We look forward to seeing you when you're back in Vegas.
