Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Classic Las Vegas
First of all, the course was in good condition even the traps were well “fluffed”. The greens had just been aerated but even that small distraction did not reduce our enjoyment.
The history of this course is rich with stories. They have placed placards at several tee boxes with stories of the previous residents. Great stories and some funny ones.
Thanks for the review, Dean!
Avoid the weekend
There are too many partiers and snobs that play here on the weekend. The pace of play was not good. They even let a 5 some play. Great course, however. Rich in history and a nice classic layout with a private course feel. You must shape your shots correctly to play tee to green well here. A challenge!
We're sorry pace of play wasn't up to our usual standards, but we're glad to hear it didn't damper your enjoyment of the round too much. Thanks for leaving us a review, we hope to see you again soon!
Great course
I’ve almost fallen in love with this course and layout. It’s been in great shape the last 2 times. Great for the $$$ only thing is couldn't enjoy a beer while we looked over our cards. Finished round 4:30 but besides that had a great time staff was awesome as usual. Would recommend.
We appreciate the recommendation, we're glad you enjoyed your time at Las Vegas National. We hope to see you again soon!
Thanks for the 5-star review!

Thanks for the 5-star review, Sparky!
Blue Sky Day
The course was in excellent shape! Played here for 20 years and can honestly say from tee to green it’s never been better. The pin positions on this day were obviously set for a “scramble” because there was no chance stopping long irons to tight pins. GolfNow last minute morning golf worked out perfectly for our twosome and played with a 13 yr old that could bomb it. Great experience all around
We're glad to hear our hard work isn't going unnoticed, thanks for the 5-star review! We'll keep an eye out for 13-year-old hustlers, and we hope you'll come see us again soon.
Great course and service
Excellent challenging course. The history of this course is awesome! , Including the very same hole Tiger Woods won his first PGA championship.
Excellent staff...You will not be disappointed......
Thanks for the 5-star review! We look forward to seeing you again next time.

Thanks for the 4-star review! Be sure to book another round with us soon.
Favorite Vegas Course
Very mature course. Fairways lined with trees. the rough is about 2 inch grass. Fairways were lush/perfect ball sits up high. Greens grass was a little thin but in good shape. Ball rolled good. Look out for water hazards. very cool layout. the sand hazards are unique. This is not a desert course.
Thanks for the 5-star review, Cortez! We're glad to see you enjoyed your time at LVN, be sure to book another round with us soon.
Good course for your money
Pretty good course for your money. Greens were in decent shape. Not to difficult of a course
We appreciate you taking time to review us on Golf Advisor, JD. Come see us again soon!
A mature, well managed course
Las Vegas National was Exactly what I had hoped for. The course was in very good shape with some fairly wide tree-lined fairways and plenty of water and sand to challenge all golfers. I enjoyed the historical signs giving information about former homeowners who lived along the course. I was disappointed that after playing 18 holes in about 3 hours/15 minutes, the pro shop was closed at 5:15pm and I was unable to shop for a cap and maybe a souvenir of some kind.
Thanks for the 4-star review, we appreciate you taking time to rate us on Golf Advisor. We don't sell merchandise online at this point, but give us a call at (866) 695-1961 and maybe we can work something out. Thanks for coming out to Las Vegas National!
Great gold layout
This is a players course. You have to hit a variety of shots. I used every club in my bag. Great layout, one of the best tests of gold skill in town.
Thanks for the stellar review, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Las Vegas National!
Not worth the money, even though it’s close to the strip
Really bad pace of play. Looks like they tried to get everyone out & didn't care how slow it was. Overall the course was like a run-down muni.
Should have been half the price !!
We're sorry to hear you feel that way, Jocolo. We're working hard to ensure pleasurable playing conditions and pace of play for all our golfers, and we hope you'll join us for another round soon!
