Piankatank River Golf Club

All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The layout of the course is really good. You could challenge for birdie on almost every hole, but be looking at double-bogey if too aggressive. Lots of undulations to the fairways, and while the greens are pretty shallow, the roll was true. Highly recommend for the price!

Layout is very fun and challenging especially if the pins are in tough positions. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, always love playing this course.

Place looked great, had a blast, course was beautiful, greens were sharp. Guys in pro shop were very kind and helpful. 10/10 experience.

This is a hidden jewel and such a great value for the money. The staff is absolutely the best - friendly and helpful. I would recommend this course highly for any in the area.

Serves a massive area without other courses near, extremely busy, management seems to have no interest in enforcing pace of play, 5.5hr average round

it was like playing 2 different courses. front nine was an awesome challenge. Was like a mountain course where drive distance needed to be good. back nine was more rolling hills and bombs away. Greens were in rough shape because of the extreme heat we have had lately but still rolled nice.

This is a challenging course. Most of the course is in good condition. One or two of the greens were a little spotty. My foursome had a good time and we would definitely play here again.

The course was in nice shape, especially the greens. And the breeze along the river was very welcome.

Think of this course as a tale of two courses. The front is a hilly up and down course while the back is more level with holes along the River with some rolling hills. Both are very pleasant to play but not necessarily a good walking course. The course is in good shape overall so you can’t blame the conditions if you have a bad day!

My wife and I played the day after the 4th of July. We had luchbin the restaurant and the course was outstanding. Highly recommended!

I have been golfing at Gloucester golf course for the past couple months, but I was always disappointed with the course conditions. But I found the Piankatank golf course and I was immediately impressed. When I went inside, I was kindly greeted by the pro at the shop and I purchased a large bag of balls on the range for $10 and as soon as I left the pro shop, I was asked by a staff employee if I would like a ride up to the driving range, even though it is a very feasible walk and that just showed how much they care about the experience of the golfers. I then finished that bag of ball and decided to go play round of nine and went into the pro shop. I was expecting a “sorry our course is packed today. We don’t have room to fit you in.” but instead they gave me a cart and quickly explain not to rush the people in front of me and stay up and pace, and I was off to play golf. Regarding the conditions, it was impeccable. The greens were perfect, and the fairways were nicely, trimmed and I did not see any dead patches. The course was absolutely beautiful and had some challenging holes and I’m definitely coming back here.

Great grass and grooming on fairways and greens. Couple of holes some experience is very helpful. Nice clubhouse and staff.
