Piankatank River Golf Club

On vacation from flat south Florida courses. Plenty of elevation changes . Very pleasing to the eye and challenging. Totally enjoyed the course and very friendly staff

I liked the hilly layout on the front 9 and links style on the back 9. The course was worth the hour+ drive from Williamsburg with the GolfNow discount for sure. Paired up with a couple of younger golfers and enjoyed the day with very little slowdown.

I’d come back for sure.

This is a favorite to go to when home course is busy with a tournament or just want to do something different.

Played 5/12/2024 (Mother's Day) and weather was perfect. The course condition was good but there were some bare / worn areas on tee box and spotty in fairway for this time of year. This is perfectly acceptable for this price point and it is overcome by the layout (elevation changes and some holes requiring shot making).

The staff is always friendly and want you to enjoy the course. The marshal was very friendly elderly gentleman and was genuinely happy that we were there. He did not do much for pace of play but it may not be his real purpose.

The pace of play slowed significantly on the back 9. We played as a 2some. There was a smooth pace and 3some ahead and 4some behind and both were always in view but not much waiting in either direction. As we approached 10-15, we were waiting on the tee box with the group ahead of us on almost every hole. It appeared that there was 2some a few groups ahead that was holding the course hostage. This is not the first time I have experienced this at Piankatank so I do think that marshals could do more to address issues like this.

The overall experience outweighs any pace issues, and I will continue to go there with friends and family.

First time and loved it. Great staff and course.currently in very good shape. Can’t wait to play again. Oh ya, they got Dude too!

Two distinct nines, one wooded and one by the river. Wonderful design with every hole being different.

Extremely friendly staff and very helpful. Course was in great condition especially for the time of year!

Check in was easy because we had used Golf Pass to prepay, weather was cold so there were fewer golfers and we were able to tee off immediately. We never had to wait and no one was behind us, we finished in less than 4 hours.

The course is challenging but the greens were really slow. We will definitely look forward to playing here again.

Let me start by saying this course is in great shape! From tee to green I had no complaints. I love the variety of holes, there are no two holes alike and almost all of them had their own unique challenges. Some more challenging than others. The 3 holes on the river were breathtaking! I love the par 3 going towards the river, water in front and behind. I wanted to play that hole well but sure enough, hit it far and right into the pond! Still love the hole! The staff were very friendly and the hotdog at the end of the round was excellent. I really don’t have anything bad to say about this course! Can’t wait to get back.
