Primm Valley Golf Club - Desert Course
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2024.
Primm Valley Golf Club boasts two championship courses designed by Tom Fazio. On the Desert Course, Fazio fully utilized the rugged landscape and scenic views offered by the mountains in the distance. Like many of his designs, the Desert Course blends seamlessly into the beautiful surroundings. It is a straightforward layout with no hidden tricks but there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking beside the undulating greens to provide some challenges. The golf course also requires a few tricky forced carries. The fairways are generous and offer some room for error, making the course more appealing to beginners. In addition to the two golf courses, Primm Valley also offers extensive practice facilities that include a double-ended driving range, target greens, practice putting greens, and chipping and pitching greens with sand bunkers.

Great day. Fun course
Enjoyed the shade of the trees on the lakes course and the friendliness of the cart girl
Lakes Course
The course is in great shape. The greens were a little slow for me but overall had a great time.
Great Course
Hot Day! 115 degrees. However, the course (Desert) was great and staff was very friendly. Would definitely love to play here again and try the "Lakes" course.
Playability of the course is very golfer friendly
The only real disappointment was the lack of water on the course and no beverage cart to be found. Even though our tee time was early afternoon there should have been a beverage cart available. Fortunately the temperature was in the low 90's with a pretty brisk breeze.
awesome course
great greens and fairway, awesome service, good for family
beautiful layout
Primm Valley Lakes Course
Everything about this course is A+. Beautiful, pristine and very challenging. Probably 10 strokes harder than the norm but a very enjoyable experience.
Course was very well maintained, greens were smooth and rolled at a great pace!
Course was very well maintained, greens were smooth and rolled at a great pace! I don't think you can find a better course for the money, absolutely great.
Good for all levels of players
Good for all level of players. Think your way around the course, or just grip it and rip it.
wonderful
a short drive...no houses... it's like a short vacation!
No waiting on a hot afternoon
We played (2-some) at 1:00 just after arriving in Las Vegas, when it was over 100 degrees for $29. We managed to get out just before a few groups and breezed through in 3 1/2 hours. It was our 2nd time playing this course, beautiful and fun without beating you up. The greens had been worked on a few weeks before so were not in perfect condition but still a great course. Much better deal than paying $100+ in town and it's only a 35 minute drive.
This is greatly run course maybe the rest of courses should learn from them on how to treat a customer and price to the market!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
super well run and extremely friendly and helpful staff
Hard to believe golf this good for so cheap
Golf in Las Vegas in the summer is cheap if you're willing to play in the afternoon. It's 110 degrees and generally windy. That being said, this is a heck of a course for that kind of money. I played the tips on the desert course and nothing was crazy long, even into the wind. Fairways are wide and well manicured - never felt like I had a bad lie except when I hit a foul ball into the desert of course. Of course it's a 30-minute drive from S Las Vegas, but so is TPC or Paiute or a number of other courses.
The only two problems were:
1) There was no water on the course and the cart girl quit at 1pm so we never saw her. That was bordering on dangerous. Bring your own water just in case.
2) They had punched the greens maybe two weeks ago and they ran really slow. They still rolled just fine and there weren't any obvious aeration holes, but you really had to putt the ball hard to get it to the hole. Fortunately the practice green was the same speed so it was easy to calibrate there before you got on the course.
Nice Course for the money
Its a bit of a drive but I played the Dessert course and its nice fairways and a great course
Desert Course is Nice
Everything was good except they do allow fivesomes which can slow down play. Good course in the middle of nowhere. Would play it again.
Don't look at the solar panels at the solar farm next door. They will blind you.
Another Great Tom Fazio Course
This is my all time favorite course in California - yes it is in Upton California just on the California side of the State Line. The Casino has a great deal for a Stay and Play. I play here twice a year with my brother who lives in Nevada. If you haven't played here, you are in for a treat. The layout is typical Tom Fazio without the high price. Every hole is challenging and equally a site to see. The conditions are always exceptional and the price is affordable - a bargain - when you can say Fazio designed. The staff is always super friendly. They remembered the last time I played here and brought my son along. That's special. I know it's in California, but whenever I am asked what's your favorite Vegas course (and I have been asked this often) - I always say its Primm Valley and Rio Seco.
Always fun to play
This course is always very well maintained.
Some fun holes that keep you on your toes.
The staff is always there to help with a smile.
Well worth the drive from Vegas.
Nice, but...
We played the Lakes course and it was nice enough (greens a little shaggy) but the pace was awful. We waited on every shot and every tee box. We left after eight holes - never any sign of a marshall - totally frustrated with pace of play.
Wide fairways and large undulating greens
Great layout that plays tough but offers plenty of bailouts. Very few forced carries. My wife was able to play and score reasonably well without taking on big risks. For better golfers there are many holes that offer risk / reward shots. For us average players. Risk reward is there but bailouts as well.
Best course in Southern Nevada
$400 experience for under $50 with Golf Now deal. Pine tree lined fairways, great water features, elevation changes, and tour-like course conditions made this a great day of golf.
Great course for the value, Very Scenic
First I will say it is a drive to get there. However, once there you will be glad you went. The course is a beautiful course with lots of scenary. It is a challenging course that I will have to play again once I get my swing back. The staff was very friendly and the facility was great. I will be back and would highly recommend to others.
