The Brigantine/Clipper Course at Shipyard Golf Club combines two of the three nine-hole golf courses on the property for one of the more challenging tests on Hilton Head. Brigantine/Clipper has a rating of 73.5, with a slope of 135 from the championship tees.
Designed by Willard Byrd and built in 1982, alligators sun themselves along the scenic, water hazard-filled Brigantine nine holes. With slight doglegs and well-placed bunkers, this golf course requires shot making and a good short game.
With plenty of sand and water hazards, Clipper may be the most difficult of the nines. This George Cobb design requires a good long game and a soft touch around the greens.

First time playing the Shipyard Golf Course. The Pro Shop Staff was very friendly and courteous. The course was in very good shape. I joined a twosome for my round and really enjoyed playing. Played in an off-season time, but still a fair amount of players on the course. I will definitely consider Shipyard the next time I visit Hilton Head Island.
