The Lakes Country Club

About
The Lakes Country Club sprawls across acres of lush North Carolina countryside, offering a glimpse of the wildlife and vegetation that is unique to Boiling Springs Lakes. Being the oldest golf course in Brunswick County, it has become a local favorite over the years. The course is a manageable 6,700 yards from the tips, making it approachable enough for less experienced players. While it is not the most formidable challenge it is enjoyable for a range of skill levels. As the golf course's name would imply, there are numerous lakes that come into play often, especially on the front nine. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. The Lakes C.C. is popular for being not only a player-friendly, well maintained golf course but also being one of the best values in the area.

Local course
I play this course regularly as it is close to where I live. There have been some improvements made on the course but the tee boxes and fairways are rough. I do like that you are able to walk the course, and the staff are always friendly.
I liked it a fun course to practice working the ball
I enjoyed this course big time it is fun you can have a good round on it. In way better shape than people act like it is, I’ve played balsam mountain preserve, and tobacco road and I I wasn’t upset with the greens at all.
A great course to work the ball both directions!
Good Value
Went off as a single. Played thru one 2 some and finished in 2.5 hours. Good course for practice. Fairways were a little bare but it’s winter and we’re short on rain. Greens were pretty fast and I had a hard time adjusting to the speed. If you’re looking for resort conditions this course is not for you. If you’re interested in practicing your game at very reasonable fees and friendly staff than here.
Beyond Slow....................
Overall condition of course was average at best. Would have ranked it POOR given the fact that several fairways were extremely patchy, but giving some leeway recognizing that winter can impact course conditions. Greens rolled well and were painted green providing good contrast to fairways. Biggest complaint is that it took 55 minutes to play the first three (3) holes.. Foursome in front of me were 80+ and were understandably slow - nearly 20 minutes per hole. Finally decided to skip a hole and rest of round was better.
Lakes country club is a great value
I really enjoyed my first time at the Lakes. A really nice layout at a great price. The staff are awesome. I liked it so much I became a member the following week
Great course
Very good course with wide-open fairways. My son is 12 and learning to play so this course very good for us. We played from the ladies tees, which was plenty long!
Solid C
Nice layout. Fairways were patchy with a lot of sand in areas. Greens were good for time of year. Decent course for the price.
Great Value for beginners. Bring your own gps yardage app. Can be difficult to find your ball this time of year as green grass
Nice improvement
From the brand new carts and well managed greens this place is worth the money can’t wait to play again
Good course for the price.
Very affordable and a good layout. It looks like they are upgrading the pro shop, I hope that doesn’t increase the price to play.
Greens are really good for this time of year.
Played on Sunday, greens were in great shape. Fairways and rough are really dead but that is expected this time of year.
Great for price
Fairways need a little work but greens were fine. Staff terrific. You can see the upgrading. Would definitely play again.
