Terrible
You must wear slacks or golf appropriate attire to go to the range...I can't go on the way home in my work clothes to hit a bucket. I have to buy their balls to go to the chipping green, $7 for a small. The range doesn't open before the first tee time and they will routinely close the range before sunset. The snack shack doesn't open until after 9am. So a 6:30 tee time you make the turn before they open for any food. Only 1 cart girl for the 36 holes and she doesn't start until after 9am. They close the shack early, long before the sun sets, like 5pm. During the summer, we would chase the sun after work. They would shut down the course when the sun was still up. This happened many times. they turn the sprinklers on the back 9 before sunset, therefore if you're trying to finish your round, they want to go home. This also happened many times to us. They will not tell you if they punched the greens when you make your tee time, you only find out after you get there and spend over $100 to play in the sand. Total waste if you want to practice before you play, eat at the turn, finish your round, practice after work, total waste. Nice course if you can just tee it up after someone else pays for your round....
Tournament
Tournament course is unmatched quality in the south bay. Along with cinnabar the tournament course is the cream of the crop. You can use every club in your bag. Most shots can be found and offer a fun approach shot. I will be coming back to this course.
It's a Jack Nicklaus signature course
There are two courses here and the tournament course is really good. Good layout and the last two holes are really great.
Nice Course
I'm not sure why others have knocked this Valley Course so much. It's not easy at 6600 yds from the whites at a slope of 130. It's not boring either as you need to think about your shots and you'll use all the clubs in your bag. My bag was a set of Titleist AP rentals. They also had Callaway and Taylor Made for a great selection. The tee boxes and fairways were all in great shape especially considering the major drought now in effect. The greens were excellent and rolled very true. There were some small areas through the green that were being recovered from damage of some sort but they did not impact the play. The bunkers were mainly hardpan but I think that's a result of the constant wind we had. Several green to next tee distances were a bit far and confusing. The route is marked but it sure helped to have a cart mate that knew where to go. Lastly I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. I will play this course again the next time I'm in the Bay Area.
One HOT day of golf.
i came out by myself and played nine holes. By the time I made the turn it was 99 degrees out, just to HOT for me. I'll come back tomorrow, morning, when it is cool out. The pro shop and outside staff was friendly and helpful. And they all made me feel comfortable and welcome.
Good but windy
I've played here many times. The course is great and in excellent condition every time. However, due to its location, it can get really windy here.
It's a course that requires thinking instead of just bombing the driver down every hole.
Nicklaus course?...Really
Adobe clay bunkers are garbage!!! Course is worst Nicklaus design I've ever played!
Save your money and go play elsewhere!
tournament course
It was a hot day, so the lag in play on the course wasn't a great thing. We also had a three some behind us that was impatient and kept hitting up on us while we were waiting for the group in front of us. Had this not been my first time here their balls would have been hit onto the highway
the clubhouse staff was great and very friendly. I think putting 1 Marshall out on the course woul be a good thing.
I don't understand why the GPS has the drink cart button on it and nobody ever showed up.
South Silicon Valley Treat
Coyote Creek has evolved into a nice operation and continues to improve yearly. As a long-term SV resident, I recalled the original Riverside track (which is now the Valley Course) and before the expansion with the Tournament Course. The facility, staffing and playing conditions are impressive and moderately priced. Even with the local area drought, Coyote is responsibly managing their water usage and the playing conditions were ideal given the middle of the summer. Recommend you enjoy yourself soon.
Fast
Great course in excellent condition. Greens hard to read, most puts went straight but looked there should be a break.
Great course, even better staff!
Had a great time. No wait and course was in great condition. Staff was extremely helpful. A few too many bunkers but that was more my problem than the courses
This course are very excellent everything
There coyote creek was very nice everything layout is sharp excellent course really is neat !!!!!
At restaurant food are very good thumb up !!!! It is worthy to play someday I will come back with my friend
I play on coyote creek tournament and next time will be on coyote creek valley.
Why not you coming down to coyote creek is very very excellent !!!!
Finally we had a chance to play this course!
This was our first time here to this lovely course. We finally had the opportunity to play and just loved the challenging but interesting course. We will return to take on future rounds!
Wind causes challenges
What a beautiful course. However, the length of the Par 4's combined with the wind provided a tremendous challenge for me. I loved the course and will defiantly take the trip to play it again. Probably the favorite course I have played in a long time. Fairways were pristine. The greens were challenging and I gave them too much credit for breaks. Look forward to the next visit!!
Golf heaven!
Beautiful course layout, and the greens were in excellent condition!!! I give two thumbs up for the fast and well put pin positions. If the bunkers were raked occasionally after watering them, this course is a prime Bay Area course. Staffs from the pro shop to cart attendees were very courteous and friendly. The snack bar sandwich is a must bite to experience...yum...the best!!! Overall, this course was one of the best yet played this year!
Cool hole layouts, fast greens, windy
Played both courses this week, the wind is a big factor but it just makes it more interesting. Grass driving range was a big plus as well. With Golfnow discount it's a great value for the money. Nicklaus course for ~$40 midweek w/ cart is solid
Tough Course 4 first timer. Want another attempt @ it!
Must drive outta trouble and avoid the long brusb
Had 3 lost balls on a bad driving day. Wetter sand
Greens relatively fast and you'll 3-putt easily if you don't pay close attention
Pin positions from heck all day; tight to one side, behind traps, corners of greens.
Lush green fairways with lots of gulleys and barrancas within hitting distance.
Pretty green outside the fairway made for some nice views.
Course knowledge (none here; have play the "Valley course - much easier!) is definately an advantage. . . played w/ member.
I'd rate it an 8 for both conditions and challenge for any advanced player.
great day at the tournament course
awesome course. wind picks up in the afternoon. greens roll true, fairways nice and trimmed, ROUGH rough. pace of play was great, no groups in sight until holes 17/18.
