Fun course to play

I thought the course was a great layout. Loved the contrast of 2-8 mountain side. It was very challenging. With wind coming up later in the round made it that much more interesting on picking which clubs to hit. All in all a challenging but fair course.

Challenging 18 hole course / nice staff

Staff that work here are great except the guys in the pro shop. I encountered two different guys in there and they were rude and did not want to help me when I asked questions.

The course is great one on my favorites in the Southbay except for the dry concrete like sand traps but as long as you stay out of them your all good.

The staff at the bar and the mobile food service on the course is great. Very friendly and are prompt and will take care of you.

Overall great spot for the price but just hate checking in and dealing with the ride staff in the pro shop.

hurricane time!!

We played the course for the first time, and it was VERY WINDY. In spite of that, the course was beautiful, and in excellent condition. We enjoyed our round. I thought the forward tees were unusually fair. We will play again.

nice layout

It is definitely challenging on the 17th & 18th hole! very nice course layout. if there is one complaint, it may be those damp & hard sand traps. Overall, this is one of the better golf course in the san francisco south bay.

great day

Course was great. Greens a little bumpy but longer putts held true. $50 for a Jack Nicholas course is one heck of a deal.

muddy traps

Course has mud and rock traps.
greens were not cut and poa anna was blooming on all of them.
maintenance disappointed because it is a great course with "finally" great personnel on staff.
Puzzled bycondition therefore. Maybe extreme heat put them in a quandry? (no excuse for the two citings above however.

Great test of golf for an amateur golfer.

Holes 2-8 really define this course. This is where you will find the toughes holes on the course. The remaining holes are no easier as you need to hit fairways to get the ball on the green with your next shot. Great value. I will definitely play this track again.

Coyote Creek (Tournament Course) Got a good deal on a challenging course

The course plays to the advantage of a well placed first shot. The wind can play a part of the your round's challenge . The undulating greens roll fair and are surrounded by strategic bunker placement (some bunkers could be refreshed with more sand; the two I negotiated were more dirt than sand). Practice areas were great and were managed by an attendant. I got an online deal to play at a reduced rate. Overall a great facilities, and a challenging golf experience.

Poorly maintained

The sand traps are more like dirt traps. They are dark grey in color and there are places where the landscaping cloth is coming up through the "sand". Many of the bunkers had standing water. The course was generally in poor condition. Many fairway areas are saturated and boggy even though California is in a severe drought. They are over watering for some inexplicable reason. $50 to $80 is way too much to pay for a course in below average condition.

Disappointing Day

We arrived at 1pm for a 1:40 tee time. Plenty of time to hit a few balls and warm up. Unfortunately, it took 20 minutes for the starter to check the two of us in. Really not sure why it takes so ling to collect two payments, quite honestly. So, very little time to hit a few range balls.
Course conditions were average at best. The greens are excellent, but even in the middle of the worst drought in ages, the fairways were wet and soggy at 4 and 5pm. Really no reason for that to happen.
The GPS system on our cart never worked right. The other cart in our group worked fine.
Pace of play was brutal., it took 5.5 hours to play, never once saw a marshal or course attendant to to try to speed up the slow groups.
On a Sunday afternoon, we saw the beverage cart *once*. I guess they're not interested in making money.
I won't be going back. Cinnabar crushes this place.

Bunkers in really bad condition

They basically over watered and some bunkers had puddles and in most bunkers it was mud and hard pan. Course of this level they should know better.

fair and challenging

The course is very fair, yet challenging. I went with a couple less talented players who still had fun.

There are many options at the snack bar. The whole groups was impressed with the food back at the club house. And the practice facility is *very* nice (driving range is fairway grass).

Windy and Slow

Usually enjoy Coyote Tournament, but not the greatest round last Sunday. Our cart ran out of power after 12 holes. So did a cart from the group in front of us. Bunkers were thin and muddy in some cases.
This course gets windy which really affected pace of play for group ahead of us. Here's a hint: when just about every tee shot that isn't topped is slicing, you probably shouldn't be playing from the blue tees. We waited on every hole.

Great course for the money

The course was in great shape. Greens were running pretty pure for being punched a few weeks ago. Could not even tell they were punched. The starter was a huge jerk and almost made us miss our tee time because he didnt know what was going on. But the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. Great overall course.
