Just started playing here
You pass it constantly and it's a first class Jack Nicklaus designed course. Want a challenge? Pick Tournament. Gorgeous and tough. Easier is the Valley course. Beautiful facility and the course is in great condition.
Could have been better
The low rating wasn't entirely the course's fault. We booked this on golfnow and it was until we finished booking that we were informed that the green were just aerated two days earlier. Basically, it goes without saying that our round was affected by this. To make matters worse, our cart ran out of juice by the 17th hole. Overall if the greens had been in better condition, I would have rated this course higher.
great
It was a great day to play golf, everything was great.
holes vary in difficulty
nice layout of the course. golf cart died on the forth hole. gets real windy out there compared to san jose where i live.
This course is very challenging
Great weather, good company, nice carts, friendly staff all helped to make this a great day of golf with friends. The course is in great shape, although I thought the rough was a bit too high. Greens are fast. Got a little breezy in the afternoon. I would definetly reccomend this course to a friend.
As we know, excellent course
Overall, excellent course. Length and difficulties are balanced. Golfers should consider strength and direction of wind for lower score.
First Time at Coyote
The course and facility are very nice, particularly the greens. We played twilight so were not able to experience the clubhouse food or beverages. One huge knock and why I will not go back for a while is they announced they were closing early(6:30) as we approached the 12th hole. We played on and no-one stopped us, but that's a deal breaker, especially as they did not inform us before we booked that they would close early. Otherwise, a great experience.
Best Affordable Golf in the South Bay
The layout from the 101 doesn't look intimidating as it's wide open, but there is actually a lot of trouble to get into. Plus the wind in the afternoons can be dangerous to your score.
However, the staff is awesome & the course is beautiful and taken well care of. Gorgeous setting and for the mid-level priced courses Coyote-Valley is tough to beat.
This is my favorite REASONABLY difficult place to play in South Santa Clara County (Eagle Ridge being my favorite EXTREMELY difficult course in the area). I won over my men's club (who play almost extlusively in the East Bay) with one tournament at Coyote as Steve V & staff take excellent care of you and their course. Have fun!
Impeccable Greens
Firstly, I would like to start out by saying that I have worked at several golf courses in my time and grew up in the Monterey Bay so have become spoiled with some of the nicest in the area. This course is up there! From the initial drive up you feel like you are on your way to something special. Excellent landscaping catches your eye with every turn. Things almost hit a snag in the pro shop as there was a new employee left alone however another staff member soon came to help him. After check in, we met the starter who was in good spirits and we got paired with another twosome. We stopped at the snack shack to be greeted by a very nice woman who makes an incredible breakfast burrito. The course conditions were nice but you could tell the wind is a constant challenge to keep it from drying out. I was really looking forward to the waterfall that was described on the 18th hole but the water level was too low for this too happen. All in all it was a very nice experience. I will absolutely be coming back!
Love this course!
The Tournament course is a course that I find constantly challenging in a positive way. It's a course that makes you think with each shot. It's not the most forgiving course at all, in fact, it's incredibly unforgiving with tricky bunkers and bending fairways. 0-15 handicap will love it, and 15-above may prefer the openness of the Valley option. I love this course as a 12 handicap
great course & well maintained
easy to access, course is challengable, but not so much arrogant. envronment is good except traffic noise.
Great putting greens
One of my favorites in the south bay area. Great layout and the greens were perfect. Fast and smooth.
Played tournament side, overall conditions were great
Played the tournament course. Course conditions were perfect. Fairways were cut nice, no bare spots, ball would sit up allowing for nice clean shots. Greens were in excellent shape, again no bare spots, smooth, fast, no bumps, soft enough to hold a shot as long as you fly it in (no big bounces and rolling off the back because of being rock hard). Very enjoyable and fun.
Great layout
I played the Championship course at midmorning of a week day. I expected the adjacent freeway noise to be more distracting than it turned out to be. Playing from the white tees was very challenging for my handicap (11). Course knowledge is vital due to fairway bunker locations and many forced carries over small environmental ravines. The greens were in excellent shape but the greenside bunkers needed a little more sand. For a public course, I found it very well maintained.
Course Management important... Mistakest are costly
Good test of golf. Placement of tee shots necessary. Misses end in creeks or environmental off- limit areas. Newcomers could use some course guide tips. The wind has an impact on most shots and it always blows. Great driving range but expensive ($7 for 30 balls)
great course, challenging
the Fairways and greens are in excellent shape, well maintained and a really good value
Too bad the fairways are punched
Nice course. Too bad the weather was not ideal. Did not know about the punched fairways and especially around the greens.
Always a great time at Coyore Creek tournament course
Great course, course condition is in good shape, fast greens and are kept in good condition
