Nice course wrong pkave
The course ( tournament ) is a nice layout.
A bit confusing going from one side of the freeway to the other .
Very windy . Usually is ....
If this course was in a different location
Away from the wind tunnel and freeway it would be a much more
Usable course .
They said it was 65.00 per player.
So I booked the golf now in the clubhouse for 55.00.
The guy was a little mad . Then another person walked up
And said , your aware of our dress code ?
I said yes ... I usually change into a collar and was already wearing pants .
Kind of funny because as we came up on 18
A player was wearing a t shirt that looked like it was 30 years old.
Lol !!!
very nice, course in really good condition, bunkers were wet.
very nice, played quickly only problem the bunkers were very wet, made sand hard to get out of.
Super Track, great price
Very good course, very difficult once the wind kicks up. great marshalls maintaining pace of play
Quirky course, no go zones on six holes on front.
Uses the creek {dry} as hazard a lot, either in front of the tees or in front of the greens. Protected plant and frog species means that you hit past the stakes you lose your ball. Played in a two club wind, the wind must take the sand out of the bunkers, cause there is little or no sand in many of the bunkers. Still, played in 4 hrs.
Nice course, lots of road noise and wind
Played the Tournament course in the afternoon. It was in good shape, greens well maintained. But there is a lot of road noise from the 101 -- definitely not a peaceful gold experience. The wind was howling too -- 2 - 3 clubs of wind in the afternoon. The par 5 17th was especially challenging into the wind...
Nice course for the money
Coyote Creek Tournament course is Jack's signature course, featuring many well designed holes and challenges. My favorites are 3, 4, 6, and 8 holes, which give you a lot of troubles but chances to score as well. No 11 is another gem par 4 which you can drive the green down wind to give you an eagle chance or even hole in one. But just do not get to the right trees. No 17 and 18 are really tough closing holes over water which demand your full attention at the end of the round.
One thing can be improved is the greens which tend to get really bumpy in the afternoons. Also, the wind usually pick up in the afternoon as well. Best to play this course early morning!
Windy and Challenging
The course is challenging but the wind makes it for a learning experience...
Nice course, plenty to keep you thinking?
1st time on this course, definitely heading back there soon.
Thoroughly enjoyed each challenge .
The course was well-maintained.
Reasonable price for twilight. However, it was too hot.
I enjoyed the course and will certainly play it again
I enjoyed playing this course. The holes had a lot of diversity from one to the next. The greens have multiple levels but they are puttable. You can score on this course if you drive where you're supposed to. If not, you pay the price although not like The Bridges where you have to drop a new ball.
Not that difficult
I have been to Valley course a couple of times and enjoyed the well maintained course - moderately fast green and the way the fairway, rough, and deep rough is differentiated.
I was often told the Tournament course is much more difficult - and I find it not so much. The back nine was a bit difficult because it required longer shots after 10am due to the wind against the direction we're hitting. Other than that I was able to get my usual score.
It's especially a great deal if you choose the tee time of a week day 7 am to pay only $50 including the cart.
Aerating in June ???
Just aerated greens were a bit of a surprise, who's aerating in June, the start of the summer season ?? Course is still a bit overpriced for what you get. Sure, nice clubhouse and restaurant, but golf isn't played in the clubhouse. While my group paid a somewhat reduced rate, essentially a "free" cart, at $100+ rack rate this course is overpriced by $20 - $30 compared to The Ranch, Eagle Ridge, Poppy Ridge, Callippe - others in the category of high end daily fee. Maybe that explains the less than four-somes and lots of open spaces between times and groups. Note to powers that be - golfers are "renting" the use of your course for the day - every "rent" you don't get can not be recovered by selling two "rents" to make up for it, it's income gone forever.
Good course.
Worth playing. Course is not spectacular but it is fun to play. Cart required is a bummer but at least you can drive to your ball. Not very good ranger presence. Good practice area. Play in the morning if you can.
Very challenging but good test of golf!
Played at 3 PM on a Monday for $40, including cart. That alone qualifies as a great deal for the type of course it is. Course is well maintained, although the bunkers leave much to be desired - very dry packed sand. I suspect they have to really drown them in the mornings or else the wind will just blow it out in the afternoons. Speaking of which, the wind was howling. The course is pretty wide open and sits right in a wind tunnel but this day was stronger than usual. It made for tricky club choices, sometimes clubbing up or down by as much as three clubs. For example, I hit one drive 320+ going downwind/downhill, then going the other way into the wind, only 220. If you're having issues with your ball-striking, prepare for a long and frustrating day. Fairways and greens were well-kept. Putts were fairly quick and rolling true. I did have some issue with putting due to the wind. The ball would oscillate and I had some trouble getting settled with the wind affecting my balance at times. All in all, I had a great time testing my skills, but the casual golfer might want to play a less windy course or at least expect to have a more frustrating time than usual.
Challenging Course, Needs Sand
The Tournament Course is a doozy that challenges your course management skills. Shot placement will help you score well. They need to invest in some sand for the traps. Except for that, I would rate this course 5 stars.
Challenging and very nice course
This course is very nice and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and nice also. I really enjoyed my day at this course and recommend it to others.
Despite tough windy conditions, the course was extremely enjoyable
Between my playing partner and I the one overwhelming conclusion we came to about Coyote Creek was how awesome the greens were.
Complaints: Twice I had a very plain lie in the bottom of a bunker, however, both bunkers were so wet and compacted that both balls came out as if they were skulled from a hard pan lie. Many of the the ball washers were dry. Hoped range balls were cheaper.
Thought the yellow jacket/wasp traps on the tees are a great idea.
Another element that was so enjoyable was the pace of play. We were a twosome playing behind multiple groups of four or more and still finished under four hours. Tees, greens, and fairways looked great.
Finally, great guest services staff. From the cart podium to the driving range the staff were very friendly and not overly pushy like other courses who have employees that remind me more of used car salesman. Really appreciated the club cleaning at the end of the round. I only wished I had some cash left to reward the guys for a job well done.
Great course, great value.
Played as a threesome in the afternoon on the Tournament course in just over 3 hours. The course condition was excellent, but the value was even better. One of the best values in the bay area.
Nice course.... Will definitely play again
Really need to get beverage cart out sooner than 10:30 AM. We teed off at 7 AM and was first warm day of year, and no food or beverages. We had to stop on 13 th hole for some food. If you're not going to open restaurant early for breakfast on weekends.... Get f& b cArts out earlier! Other than that, staff was friendly and competent.
Well laid out course with the challenges of deep bunkers and environmental areas.
Excellent course with many challenges. Plenty of bunkers, water and environmental areas which provided very strategic play. Defiantly will play again!
