Mountain Vista Golf Club - Santa Rosa Course

Always love this course but sad to see it in such a weather damaged condition. The back nine is in great shape but four and one half holes closed on the front nine and looks like it will be awhile before they will be playable. Front nine cart path only.

Greens in good condition. Hoping they can get it back in shape soon (without anymore rain).

TeeOff, GolfNow and course does not mention holes 4 and 5 closed due to flooding from ruptured water line. Won’t be fixed until March they say but didn’t know until I showed up. Rest of course excellent condition but keep in mind you’ll only get to play 16 holes. Friendly staff and good service.

Golf pass did not disclose the the fact that holes 4&5 were closed due to previous weather. Should be noted before booking. Other areas of the course were bare due to water damage. Lay out was good with challenging par 3s from the gold tees. Will try again next year

The pro shop ladies were really nice, as was the marshall, and the guys that took our cart. Unfortunately, two holes were unplayable due to damage. But, after asking nicely, we got the twilight rate instead of the day rate, so it worked out. Greens were substandard, but that might be just time of year waiting for grass to grow.

Nice course, but still dealing with recent flooding. Only back 9 was open, so had to loop back to play back nine again and deal with overcrowded tee sheet.

No information upfront and no refund. Paid 18 holes played 9 due to flooding at the front nine.

Course only had nine holes open due to flooding and we we’re not informed of that before we paid. We paid for a full 18 and played nine holes in 1.5 hours then they told us we had to wait an hour before we got to start our second nine because they kept sending out new tee times. We asked for a refund because we only played nine and we were told the Golfnow tee times could not be refunded. We ended up leaving and booking a new tee time at a different golf course because the course was so backed up it would have taken us 4 hours to finish the back nine. I understand it’s a busy time of year for this location but the course should not have booked so many tee times knowing that people would have to play the back nine twice and we should have been informed that the front nine was closed before we paid. I will never play here again. If you book 18 holes expect to finish in more than 6 hours.

My experience with the garbage operation of this golf course was extremely disappointing. After taking the time to make a tee time and bringing along a friend who had taken a day off work just to play golf, we drove 90 minutes to the course, only to discover that we could not play.

The frustration began when I learned, upon arrival, that rain had damaged part of the course, rendering the front nine unplayable. What added to the disappointment was that this crucial information was never communicated to me during the reservation process over the phone. Additionally, the course failed to contact me before the scheduled tee time to notify me of the issue.

Upon reaching the course, we were informed that we could play the front nine at full price, but there was no guarantee that we could play it again due to the course being busy. The lack of proactive communication and the indifferent attitude of the staff in the golf shop further exacerbated the situation. It was evident that they couldn't care less about the inconvenience and frustration we were experiencing.

To make matters worse, my friend had taken a day off work, investing three hours in commuting, only to end up not playing golf. Personally, I wasted time and gas on the same futile endeavor. Needless to say, I would never consider playing at this course again, given the poor management, lack of communication, and overall disregard for customer satisfaction.

Always in great condition and friendly staff. Water and ice available in several locations. Greens were true. Pace was a bit slow due to one slow-paced foursome, however the day was nice enough that we still enjoyed the round.

We were informed by the starter as we were about to tee off that it was the second day that the course was open and that carts were cart path only. Personally I don't mind the extra walking, depsite the fact fairways are wide amd cart paths are not close to where you would want your ball to end up. However, I really dislike not having the right club, and what it does to pace of play. This was not disclosed at booking or at checking in. We would have booked somewhere else had we known.

The course itself is nice, can be forgiving, and is well maintained. Will likely play again when carts have full roam.

Played on the last day before the course was to be shut down for reseeding. Definitely needed it. Greens were hard and dry. Half the course was very dry. Layout was ok. Very gettable course, but was not satisfied with the course for how much I payed. Drives would leave me with a LW in, but lie would be on a dry, hard, patch of fairway. Not gonna lie. Felt a little ripped off. DW down the street was a much better course for the price. Staff was great, very welcoming and friendly. Range employee deserves a raise!
