Rancho Mirage Country Club
About
This course sits at the intersection of two of the most famous roads in Palm Springs: Bob Hope Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive. Yet, it's one of the better kept secrets in the golf scene. Rancho Mirage Country Club in Ranch Mirage is a semi-private club available to outside play through stay & play packages so it does not do a lot of publicity.
There are 10 lakes, tons of palm trees and the snow-capped San Jacinto Mountains to catch your eyes. The course itself is largely flat and inviting for the average hacker. It measures only 6,111 yards from the back tees. But its 122-slope rating is a little deceivingly given how small many of the greens are. It still takes good shots to post a good number at Rancho Mirage.
There are also lighted tennis courts at the complex, allowing golfers to make a day & night of it, if they wish.

average conditions
Fairways were quite poor, very thin and sandy. Bunkers had little sand in them and were very muddy and clay based. The overall conditioning needs improvement,
Enjoyable Golf
Great course for the mid to high handicap player - no surprises. Being early in the season, fairways were a bit sparse but the greens were good. Hope to play there more often.
Course needs work
Green side bunkers need work, sand inconsistent.
Fairways are in rough shape.
Greens are good.
Hole 10 is possible the worst design hole I've ever played.
The tee box on hole 17 needs to be protected from 16 green approach shot. When hitting approach shot in to 450 yard par 4 - 20 yards to left is not a huge miss.
Nice course
We have played this course for many years and will more. It is one of our favorite courses in the valley.
Nice layout, some long holes, some tricky holes, some short, just a very good layout. We will be back often

Beautiful and moderate difficulty
This course is fun to play, but no walk in the park. It is a walk in the park, as far as the beautiful views.
Good value
Nice layout. Greens are beaten up a little but roll true. Overall physical condition is not good for this quality golf course, but rates are low and play is heavy. Fairways are OK and the rough is like crab grass--prob ungroomed Bermuda. Again, sand traps (sorry) are well-positioned but sand quality is poor. But very good value.
Nice course
Great value for the money, course is in good shape
Greens are a little trickey need to take your time with putting
Great views all around
Will play it again
Early Tee Time = Quick Round
We played at 7:15 at a pretty decent rate. Pace was really quick, as there was only one or two groups ahead of us and they were playing at a good clip. Course was coming around after overseeding, so not going to complain about conditions. Being from Alberta, we are happy to be golfing (in shorts) in November, and know that conditions at this time of year are hit & miss.
good timrs
really enjoyed this course. this is one of the most beautiful courses in Palm springs area. only weakness is the age of the golf carts.
Rancho Mirage
First time playing here, played the blues (6111/69.4/122) in 4H on a prepaid Golf Now Hot Deal for $41 w cart. The weather was perfect, low 70's with almost no wind. Older course, par 70. In spite of only two par 5's, it is a decent layout with some interesting holes. Tight but not overly tight. Overall, a good mix of holes, there were a couple of 450+ par 4's & both the par 5's were potentially reachable for longer hitters. #10 was a weird hole, a 315 yard par 4 that is a severe dogleg right. I hit 8I off the tee because there were a dozen or so tall trees about 75 yards directly in front of the blue tees (so unless you could control a big slice?), then a 7I into the green. The Bermuda greens were firm and putted medium speed. Most sloped gently from back to front, only a couple had distinct tiers. The Bermuda fairways were semi lush, I almost always had good lies. The rough was a rye mix that was probably overseeded, usually lush and thick. The sand traps were plentiful and maintained at best average. They were filled with a thick mixture than was much more dirt than sand that was still wet playing twi-light? I was up against 3 different lips that made "normal" sand shots impossible. There were also a generous amount of lakes on this course to go along with many mature palm trees. It is a layout that one could score well if they keep it in play. The customer service was excellent from the pro shop to the starter to the very visible cart gal to the attendant who cleaned your clubs after the round. Not a great course, but a fun one I would not hesitate to play again.
Great Pace of Play
First course this trip where we finished in under 4-1/2 hours. Greens were not in very good shape.
great mountain views
this is a lovely well maintained course with a lot of scenic mountain views. There are enough challenging holes to keep things interesting.

Course Condition
Pace of play was a bit slow, but tolerable. Condition of fairways was disappointing, very hard and the Bermuda grass cut very short, no sign of Rye grass except in the rough. Greens in pretty good condition for this early in the year.
Rancho Mirage Golf Course
Played here before. Booked as a single and paired up always a good pairing. Course was in great shape and fun.
Very slow round
Went as a foursome - two couples. We are all fine waiting on a golf course, but it was excessive.hopefully it was an off day at the course but we had to wait 10+minutes before every shot. Couldn't get any rhythm going, and even our wives who play only a few rounds a year found the waiting excessive. Otherwise the course was decent for the price we paid, amenities were nice.
Traveling Golfer
Pace of play was slower than expected. Had to wait to hit on all but a couple of holes. Two groups on some tee boxes. Took 5+ hrs. When we arrived at the first tee at the time told, we were third in line. Being early in the season, the course hadn't recovered from overseeding. Hopefully conditions will improve as the season goes on. The difference in yardage between the Men's White and the ladies forward tees did not help a shorter senior lady hitter on most of the holes. Questionable if I would play again.
Not good condition!!
for sure 80$ worth golf course for sure! Not a good condition of green..
Was ok
Round took almost 5 hours.
No balls at range for 15 minutes.
Range too sandy.
