Rancho Mirage Country Club
About
This course sits at the intersection of two of the most famous roads in Palm Springs: Bob Hope Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive. Yet, it's one of the better kept secrets in the golf scene. Rancho Mirage Country Club in Ranch Mirage is a semi-private club available to outside play through stay & play packages so it does not do a lot of publicity.
There are 10 lakes, tons of palm trees and the snow-capped San Jacinto Mountains to catch your eyes. The course itself is largely flat and inviting for the average hacker. It measures only 6,111 yards from the back tees. But its 122-slope rating is a little deceivingly given how small many of the greens are. It still takes good shots to post a good number at Rancho Mirage.
There are also lighted tennis courts at the complex, allowing golfers to make a day & night of it, if they wish.

Course was not in the best condition. Some staff members were extremely rude. Would not return for that reason more than course condition.
poor choice
Course was in terrible shape.not a good value for the money
Painfully slow without any marshaling.
Weather perfect-- pleasant reception -- absent starter-- golfers selected how and when to T of-- as a result tight clustering of twosomes. -- boring game took 4.5. -5 hours.course in fair condition but unexciting. With proper management it an OK course but with this experience I will choose many other courses in this region before this one.
Very enjoyable day
On vacation in Palm Springs, booked this not knowing what to expect. Course was recently re-opened from overseeding, but in good condition. Greens were a little slower than expected but fair and true. Paired with another couple that made it an enjoyable morning. Done in under 4 hours
Palm Springs golf
Staff was very accomodating and friendly. Weather was very warm and humid.
this course fit my game
played the blues.....was a challenge mentally, but the fairways were hitable & greens reachable in regulation. I struggled with the putts, but that was a newly opened course following over-seeding. Was enjoyable for all.
Excellent people and course.
About 3 weeks after overseer. Course is in great shape. Would play it again in a heartbeat!
The course is fun to play
This course has some interesting holes and will reward good shots.
Happy Canadian
Very pleasant afternoon, we were able as a twosome to finish 18 holes in 3 hours. Staff was very helpful.
Classy and friendly.
Nice to find a friendly, competent, and proactive marshall. A wedding party of several foursomes had the first tee backed up so he moved us over with another couple to start on 10. We breezed through the round in a little over 3 hours. Marshall checked on us every few holes and kept us informed of other groups progress. No delays no problems. Most other courses weve played in the area have no marshall at all or just some guy drives by in a cart and maybe waves from 50 feet away but never talks.
As for the course itself it was our first time here and we loved it. It had only been open a couple of days after reseeding and conditions of both fairways and greens were excellent. This is my new favourite course.
average course
The course was fine. Some greens and t boxes were a little close from incoming balls.
Ok
This was opening day so the overseed was still pretty shaggy. I have played here before and it's a solid value for the money.
Course is usually pretty nice once the overseed takes hold.
Fun Day
Overall a very enjoyable round. The pace of play was VERY slow though. My friend and I were paired up with two other gentlemen who could not have been nicer to play with.
My friend rented clubs and they were old !!!! Also would be nice if they gave you a few tees and a towel to wipe your clubs.
Conveniently located
A 'player-friendly' course with a couple of challenging holes.
pro shop lady was just overwhelmed
I want to give an honest review
1) the lady at the pro shop was nice but she has no help and had to do everything
2) this course is short and easy but the grass are in bad shape. the grass are literary 8 inches long and longer in some holes. Even if you hit a good tee shot there is the possibility of not finding your ball because the grass are just too long.
3) range was close
4) my cart had no ice chest
5) would I recommend this course to my friends.... .....No I will not.
Horrible Staff
Worst customer service I have dealt with at any golf course in the Coachella Valley. One person handles the entire pro shop. Very bad attitude. When I was bit by RED ANTS the staff treated me like a liar and demanded to see the ants for themselves. What a joke. I left the course in a hurry and managed to forget my putter. Even though I was the very last person on the course, they never found it. I wasn't able to speak to anyone inside the pro shop for a week so even if it was able to be found, no one bothered to try. This place is horrible. Go to the Westin Mission Hills for the same price and terrific customer service.
course condition
Fairways were not mowed. Very long grass in fairways. Ankle high rough just off the fairways
Obviously there is a maintenance problem. Also made us start on hole 10 for no reason
No range balls set up for guests
Great features and friendly staff
We played in August and it was quite warm but bearable. The price for summer play is unbelievable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the pro shop to getting us water and cold towels. If we lived in the area, we would play there frequently.
Aan Ordinary Venue
Purely out of curiosity to see what the course looks like, my wife and I opted to play this course. We found that this is a very typical golf venue constructed as part of the overall real estate development. There are many houses along the fairways. The overall design of the course is a kind of boring. However, because this is a par 70 course, it plays much longer than you might expect from the total yardage shown on the golf card. Greens were slow and bunkers hard. But for the Golfnow discount price we paid, we think that it is still worth playing at least once.
