Rancho Mirage Country Club
About
This course sits at the intersection of two of the most famous roads in Palm Springs: Bob Hope Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive. Yet, it's one of the better kept secrets in the golf scene. Rancho Mirage Country Club in Ranch Mirage is a semi-private club available to outside play through stay & play packages so it does not do a lot of publicity.
There are 10 lakes, tons of palm trees and the snow-capped San Jacinto Mountains to catch your eyes. The course itself is largely flat and inviting for the average hacker. It measures only 6,111 yards from the back tees. But its 122-slope rating is a little deceivingly given how small many of the greens are. It still takes good shots to post a good number at Rancho Mirage.
There are also lighted tennis courts at the complex, allowing golfers to make a day & night of it, if they wish.

Had a Great time, paired up with nice folks.
Thought $25.00 for rider was excessive, but OK.
Pleasant morning
Lovely not too tough course. Perfect for a 16_20 handicap.
Not a $95.00 course
Don't be fooled with online booking that states huge discounts. You are not going to find a $95.00 value here.
Not a bad little course, just a huge let down to find out that you are just another tourist that got fooled into playing this course under the guise of a "Hot Tee Time Special". Who pays $95.00 to play this course? -- someone that already owns the Brooklyn Bridge?
Watch out for the sand traps. They are very sub par. However, you would have thought their driving range would have helped me with my sand game as there was no soil under the grass (almost completely sand). So, while practicing in the damp morning conditions it was just like hitting moist sand shots if you took the least bit of a divot (maybe not a problem for a low handicapper?).
Sand Traps
The sand traps here are not good. There is very little sand in them and they are as hard as rocks.
The course is not on very much property and therefore becomes a challenge during play as some of the tees are very close to greens and other tee boxes slowing down play while you have to wait.
Frustrating Day
Rancho Mirage CC is a quirky short-ish course that is made MUCH more difficult by having greens with lots of "action" - bumps, slopes, varying speeds - and which are some of the FIRMEST things I have ever played (40+ years). The players in our group ( above-average to better players) all had trouble figuring out a way to get any approach shot to stop near a flagstick, without just being lucky. One tried to land the ball just in front of the green and let it bounce on, but the areas in front of the greens were too soft to get a bounce most times. If anyone can stop even wedges on these greens quickly, they must have tour-level backspin.
Rancho mirage
Paired up with other couple that were beginner golfers very slow round Course conditions good course difficulty moderate
Target course ! Long hitters, leave uyour driver in your car.
Good course to practice short game. Greens were not cut and were slow. Long hitters, leave your driver in your bag unless you can drive it on a dime. Tight target from the blues. This is a short course at approx. 6111 yards. I played with three other guys that booked on GN. We made it in approx. 4 hours. The marshall were after us even thought there were no one behing us and in front of us. It was very annoying to have the marshall on our back on several holes.
One of my favorite old style courses
Great course in great condition. Great golfing combined with views of the mountains and course community. Only drawback (for women mainly) is the shortage of restrooms on the course. There is only one on course and you don't go by the clubhouse at the turn.
Sadly poor
I am sorry but I found it quite dangerous!!!!! We had golf balls coming at us from many other holes....I did not like the sculpt ure of the course as it lead to misfired balls....I will not play it again....the so called sand traps were nothing but clay!!!!! Not fun.
Fair Value
Not a great course but still fun to play and overall conditions were good. This is a fair to good value for golf courses in the area. Bunkers need sand.
good value for the money
Good value for the money. Plays long from the women's tees. Also a little tight with regard to the houses being close to the fairways on the back nine.
Sand only issue
The course was god, the people I joined up with were great and the only negative were the sand traps. Many were wet and covered with mud.
1st tee-time in the morning - 3 hr round
Teed off 6:37 am as 4-some and finished in 3 hrs. Course in good shape. Pleasantly surprised at nice variability of holes given the modest price ($50).
Good practice track
Would not golf here on a regular basis. Greens were all chewed up, because nobody repairs divots. Some greens look like a teenager with severe acne. Also, lack of carts in the afternoon, almost caused us to miss tee time start time. Lastly, pace of play was excruciating slow. The only plus is the low golf rate relative to other courses in the area. However, it is by far one of the worst kept courses in the area
It was a disaster
Arrived at course and partner had already registered and was told he had to pay for round of golf. I tried to speak to staff but there was a long lineup so proceeded to first tee. It took 2.5 hours to play the first 9 holes. Every hole was backlogged and no marshall to be seen to improve pace of play. The sand traps are a joke; sand is all hard packed like concrete. After 9 holes marshall sitting beside green & said to go to hole 14 due to problem on back 9 with bees. After 18 went to pro shop to resolve payment issue. After some delay credit given to partner's credit card. Asked about playing balance of game or credit of some sort. Told could play holes 1-4 to get in 18!! Went to hole one and played 2 holes and left as the delay was ridiculous. Left and won't be back and would never recommend. Used to play course allot about 4 years ago. Appears to have gone downhill terribly and day was just a gong show.
Great staff
From the pro shop welcome to the starter it made from a wonderful beginning to our day. Bonus was discovering that we had a lunch and beverage included - not mentioned on GolfNow.
Great day at the golf course and played just slightly under 4 hours. Bonus!
Rancho Mirage
We thoroughly enjoyed the course along with 2 of our guests. The course is very picturesque and well groomed. Some holes were more difficult than others but overall the course was very manageable for 4 intermediate golfers. We would definitely return and try to better our scores a second time.
Decent price but course lacked maintenance.
Course could have been a little tidier. Many leaves on tee boxes and fairways. Sometimes hard to find your ball!! Sand in bunkers was like a rock!! Way too hard!! Very wet and not raked properly...
Nice course and lots of scenery
This is a pretty course with water, flowers and lots of trees. The fairways are reasonably wide and for good golfers not a problem. The course can be considered short for long hitters. The tee times are really stacked up but we had no problems since we teed off at 7:15 am. This course seems to be a favorite for a lot of the local people. Driving range is free so that is a bonus. Beware there is hardly any sand in the bunkers so you don't want to go in them.
Acceptable for under $50
Tee'd off at #10 = unpleasant surprise. Bunkers are in poor condition ... not much bunker sand and most were wet (the weather has been dry for over a month). Quite a few dangerous, "cross fire" type holes.
