Some good, some bad
This is a fairly wide open course, that on our particular day was packed with golfers. The staff was pleasant; the facilities were quite limited. Some greens were near perfect; others were unplayable. One oddity: mowers continued their job even as we were hitting our tee and second shots, undeterred by our presence. Apollo Beach is a reasonably priced place to play golf if you live in the area; probably not worth a long drive (pun unintended) to do so.
Great on all levels
Everything about the course was great! Just an enjoyable day!
Older course
I have been playing this course for 12 years and it is always in repair. The fairways and some greens suffer from salt water intrusion (poor grass) but it has a good layout, enough challenge to keep me on my toes and a good mix of players.
Nice layout. Conditions are getting better. Some of the greens and fairways still need work but I will continue to play here.
Enjoyable
Somewhat challenging, players in front and behind us moved quickly. Green were in good shape fairways were dry in certain spots but really help me with my drives and boy I needed that. I would suggest this course to beginners as well as hot shot golfers.
I will be back
Very Dry
Very dry with our weather and no rain right now. Fairways pretty burnt up and most greens had an issue somewhere. No 12 Par 3 had the green divided into 2 greens which was very surprising
Fairways
Aren't i the best of shape & some of the greens had bear spots
Dry but nice
Back nine pump out, still in pretty decent shape. Layout is nice.
Find somewhere else
Aerated greens dont bother me but the fairways are goat tracks. Green have large tract of missing turf. Play elsewhere.
Inconsistent
Played today and did not saw the aeration warning until after already booked my round. The front greens were in decent condition even though they had been aerated. The back nine was a different story, greens were slow and most of them had big spots were there was just dirt, regardless of the aeration holes that were not an issue. The last time I played there back in February the greens were in great condition but today they were awful, specially on the back 9.
course needs water and several repairs on both the fairway and the greens. Cost was excellent and cart worked well. Maybe wth some rain and weeding it would work well as the layout is good. Joe L Hughes
Fairways need more grass
It's a good course to practice hitting balls on sandy fairways (some of them). It's always wendy since it is close to the ocean. It would be great if we can see the view of the ocean but no. I played this course maybe 4 times since we moved to Ruskin last August. Greens are very slow and maybe 2 or three are in major disaster. Fairways are not in a good shape and it need more grass. It's a 6 minute drive from where I live so it is a great course to play a quick round on the weekend.
