About
Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Apollo Beach Golf Club features large, well- bunkered greens and long tee boxes with generous fairways. The course is designed around many small lakes and inlets that dominate the landscape, bringing water into play on every hole. One trip around the layout and you will know that there are all sorts of unseen challenges awaiting golfers of all skill levels. The snack bar/restaurant offers home cooked breakfasts and lunches featuring specials daily.

Retired
When I arrived the coarse was getting active with a league. The first 9 holes went with a quick pace but the second 9 was very slow. The tee, bunkers and the fairways need lot of work as well as some for the greens. The value was ok but if you have another choice I might take it.

I love this course
Historically it is one of only 2 Robert Trent jones courses in Florida
I would play it more but the conditions are less than poor
2 holes were cart path only, which I understand
The advisory on the web was for a temp green on 15
# 7, a challenging par 5, was a par 3 , because of conditions
I wish the ownership would put some money into it to improve the conditions
It is a real shame

Horrible course conditions
The course was in horrible condition and the staff was not Pleasant. They don't even greet you they ask what they can do, get your money until you to go. I will not be playing there anymore I will just go up the road to Summerfield.

Sad
Other than the greens, this course is in sad shape. Several tee boxes had been moved forward so that all tee shots were hit from the same marker. Tees being rebuilt/groomed whatever. On par 5 #7, it has been reduced to a 100 par 3 while the fairway is rebuilt. Other fairways were just plain bare and muddy. Yes, I hit a ball or two in the rough, but with eyes on the ball, I had trouble finding it. The rough needs to be cut more regularly. I last played this course 2 months ago, and, sadly, things haven't improved.

Don't waste your money
The course was in terrible condition. The fairways were tore up and you don't dare roll off the fairway because you will most likely never find your ball. But of coarse they never tell you this before you book the tee time. We played there 4 years ago and we thought it would be better, but NOOOOOOO. Don't waste your time at Apollo Beach Golf Course.

Great course!
This is a great course, loved everything about it! Course was under repair in some of the fairways but that didn't prevent any shots from being taken just had to drive on the cart path in some areas on some holes. Greens were in perfect condition. Clubhouse, pro shop and snack bar employees were all friendly and helpful. Snack bar prices are from another time, like 1995. Gatorade for $2 and homemade banana bread for $1.75?? Can't beat that!
This is a nice layout, not to difficult but the water will challenge you to stay straight and some fairways narrow so you have to be accurate and may need an iron off the tee.
The combination of everything you experience at a golf course was excellent and how you want it to be when you go out for a round. I wish all starters and Rangers were this helpful and genuinely friendly at every course I play.
I wish every time I checked into the clubhouse the attendant was happy to see me and wished me a great round. I wish all snack bar prices were reasonable and not offensive so you don't feel like you need to sneak stuff from home onto it.
This golf course overs great value all the way around and you should play it!

Nice course - fair condition
This course has a nice layout. I wish the course was in better shape. In nice condition, this golf course would be hard to beat.

Friendly, Quaint, Relaxed
Everyone super friendly. Slow start but the foursome in front let us through after 5 holes, thankfully. Nobeverage cart, but good selection in clubhouse. Not a resort course level of maintenance, but ok for the money. Yes, there are some gnats, but not a huge deal.

Decent course
I have played here a few times. Greens are decent, fairways are decent, and rough is decent. Staff is friendly. Price is fair if booked online. Gnats can be frustrating throughout the front nine.

From the moment we arrived at the course we were met by the Staff who were very professional and friendly.
The course was in great shape.

Great layout overall poor conditions
Very nice layout along the marshes and some challenging holes. The green were good overall but at least 4 greens had a few bad areas and 1 temporary green. 1 Fairway was very bad and they made this par 5 in to a par three. Several tee boxes were closed for maintenance so the yardages were much less on some of the holes. The ranger was very nice and shared his bug spray with us, and yes you will need bug spray. The nats bothered my teenage son to no end, it was comical to see him mad at the bugs. When and if they get this course back in shape it would be fun to play it again. The price was very good for us which often worries me when discounts are offered. We got done in under 3 1/2 hours, so overall a good day. If you can deal with some of the issues mentioned this course is for you if not try someplace else

bring bug spray or you will be eaten alive
This is a nice course, went to the driving range and it was in the middle of the course so you will need to take the golf cart to the range and wear bug spray for the mosquito's but first time playing and the course was a nice lay out and went smooth until I caught up to a league. Usually I can play in two hours but this day four and half hours. That was the only down fall. Super friendly staff. And bring your own beverages because there isn't a cart staff to bring you something while golfing.

Fun course, improving conditions.
Took a chance on the Couple of greensweather, got rained out on the last two holes, but nice round nonetheless. Couple of greens have undergone repair, but they've done a nice job and did not adversely effect play. One temporary green due to additional repairs. Generous fairways for the most part, but water is in play a lot, making a good challenge on some of the holes. Overall, a nice place to play.

Course renovations
The course had a 3-4 holes with fairway greens due to repairs, a few greens with no grass, and a few greens with patches of new grass that was like the first cut.
Should have known for $16.

It's what I expected...
Really nice layout. It's too bad the course has been in terrible shape every time I've played it. Staff was great and the price was really good, so I can't complain too much. Had to play 4 par 3's on the front nine due to repair activities, by the way...

Nice day to play
Would have been a great round had they told us there was maintenance on the course two holes on the front 9 getting extensive maintenance making them par threes with one of them having a temporary green. Hats off to the starter for letting us start before the club opened and paying at the turn. Great pace of play and as always folks inside the club working always very cordial and efficient. Course maintenance will not keep us from coming back..
