good for hackers
I enjoy playing Apollo Golf as it is easier than other courses in the area. Not too many sand traps or water holes.
You get what you pay for....
Play this course with low expectations and you just might decide to go back. The greens are bumpy and bare in areas. The fairways are about 50% decent and 50% dirt and weeds. You cannot play the ball down, you have to "noodle it" to find something that resembles grass at times. Most tee boxes were decent. What shines throughout the round is the quality of the layout. RTJ's design is apparent everywhere. If this course was properly maintained it would be one of the finest in the area.
Value for the money
The course is a little rough in areas, greens have some bad spots. However, it is fun to play and the price is right.
Awful
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This course was in horrible condition. I have played public courses in better shape then this. Greens bumpy and bare spots. Fairways were hard and had bare spots. This place could be great. Has potential. But way over priced for how bad this course is in. I even had a hot deal and wouldn't go back even if they gave it to me for free. Save your money. Pay the extra and go somewhere nice. You been warned!!!
Cheap golf
Course in rough shape. Greens are poor bare spots not rolled. Best thing going for course it is cheap.
First Time here
Was fast and friendly service, not bad course a little sandy. Considering I am a beginner golfer and dont keep score it was ok for me guys behind us were irritating a bit because they were so fast lol But loved the day! Thanks
Beautiful Course
There is great beauty here -- birds, water views, homes, and the greens are pretty good. This is a fair price for a fair course, but it is not great golf. Far too slow, inconsistent parirings,, little supervision to speed things up.
Course not designed for the average golfer. Far too much water. I suggested it might have been designed by Jacques Cousteau.
The fairways were too inconsistant in condition. The greens were in horrible condition. Very bumpy. The speed ranged from very slow to very fast.
I probably would not play this course again.
Apollo Beach GC
A fun layout but greens and fairways are not properly maintained. Greens are bumpy and some have sizable bare spots.
not worth the price
The greens and fairways were in very bad shape it was like playing in a field. Pace of play was very good because it wasn't busy i guess because most people know that it is in bad shape. Staff were good. The pictures do no justice of the conditions.
Enjoyable round
Went as single and 3some I was scheduled with were very friendly! Course. was very friendly and in great shape.
Nice layout but so so shape
This is a Robert Trent Jones Sr. layout which makes it appealing to play. However it is in fair shape and needs a lot of TLC. The greens roll good but very bumpy. I almost want to say don't recommend to a friend unless can get a price no bigger than $26-28.
Winter golf
I have played here before. Greens not smooth, bare spots on fairways. Very busy. Could be a decent course if it got a little love
Play course once every 2 weeks since Oct. and each time
course is getting worse condition wise.
Fairways very dry and sandy. Greens are getting very bumpy.
Too bad because it is a great layout.
Slow as a turtle
Got behind a women's 18 hole league. Most of the ladies hit 100 or less yardage and would wait until the group in front of them would clear green and proceed to next hole. They started on back nine at 8am must have played two holes and began front 9 at 830 we started at 840 four minutes before scheduled tee time and did not finish 18 holes until 1:10.. I would not play on thursdays again unless I could go out before them. Too long for easy course..
I played the course on 3/3/17. I saw the reviews but wanted to check for myself to verify. They were correct. The greens were awful. Bumpy, not a lot of grass on them and large dirt patches on them. The fairways had plenty of bald spots all over and the tees were pretty beaten up. Apollo will probably respond as it was the dry weather or hope you come back again. You have totally lost this course and I don't know at this point of you can restore it but it's not worth playing in this shape. Sorry for the negative comments but I call them truthfully.
