What happened to Apollo Beach?
Years ago I use to visit this course when vacationing from NY, the course was beautiful back then, now it is not worth my time or money. The only good points are the friendliness of the staff and the location to where I am living now. So that should let you know how bad this course is. I had forgotten about some of the great holes like 2. Nothing much else to say.
Course has some challenging holes
good condition, greens seemed a little slow. course is in good condition
Beautifil Course in Apollo Beach
I always enjoy this course. Tom and his staff are always professional and courteous. The.course is well maintained and challenging.
Nice Course, good experience
I have played Apollo Beach several times and I always have a nice experience, the staff is very pleasant and helpful and the course is challenging at least for me.
More tan excellent Golf Club for the price we paid
It is a great club, nice greens and the entire 18 holes have their grade of difficult, that is good. I have two things against this club: the first one is the sign in front Of the club, it is hard to see when yo drive and you can pass straight: the secpnd thing is against mosquitoes, these are a constant throug the entire 18 holes, we suggest more often fumigations over lakes and water canals
Good course
Great course! Very fun! The only negative thing I have to say is on the first nine wholes you're getting bit by Mosquitos which isn't fun while you're trying to golf!
Needs Some Rain !
When driving there I passed right by it as it didn't look like a golf club. Checked in and got hooked up with a member which was awesome for a first time player there. Jim, you were awesome in your information and company, The course needs water and the greens and fairways are very spotty. Has some interesting holes and had a good time. Spotted an eagle and a vulture out there.
Similar to Cypresswood G&CC but w/ lots more water in play like The Savannahs and Turtle Creek GC
11:00 am tee time w/ Bruce for $16.40/ea thru Golfnow Hot Deal. Teamed up in back 9 w/ nice guy name Ron. Battery powered cart w/o windshield or raincover. Fun & challenging course. Imperative to be in or near fairway. Has couple of holes that require forced carries for approach shots. Tee boxes in decent condition. Fairways fairly plush but some bare areas, probably caused by standing water. Huge elevated greens are rolling true & fast, but hard so doesn't hold approach shots. Told by Pro shop attendant that they are aerating tomorrow so greens should soften up. Will definitely return especially for this great price I was able to obtain.
High Price, Needs a lot of attention
I've been playing this course for about 20 years. I've always liked the layout like a number of my peers have suggested. However, the course is in horrible shape with patches of sand and worn out grass in the fairways. The sand traps are not clean or ever raked. This is a great course with some awesome holes but it needs a huge makeover. If they have any money left, they should put it into the clubhouse. It is....well.....about outdated by 20 years.
Very nice layout
This is a very nice course with a challenging, yet not overly difficult layout. The greens were in great shape and most fairways also (a few bare spots were encountered but nothing that affected play). Our foursome thoroughly enjoyed the round and we will surely be back. A very friendly staff and other golfers also made it a great day. Lots of beautiful wading birds throughout the course added some color (especially the roseate spoonbills).
The course was perfect for me.
I enjoyed the course.it was in good shape the people in the pro-shop were great.I will be back.
Great course layout but needs attention
A great course with good greens, but fairways are very spotty. It pays to call ahead to avoid being caught up in a tournament.
Awesome course!
When you go to Florida to play golf this is what you expect a Florida course to be like! Challenging, beautiful course and the staff is super friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel at home!
improving
3 years ago the Course was deteriorated. Now noticeable improvements and more on the way. This a great lay out by Donald Ross. Risk reward without punishment. I have always liked this course for its design. I like it even better for its condition and am hopeful about its future.
Great experience
First time and found great conditions and great golf.
Nice layout, great scenery
Easy to get on.Rewards accurate fairway driving. When I caught with groups they played at a good pace. A little improvements on greens and a few areas on fairways would make course above average. Will still continue to play from time to time. Overall enjoyable course to play .
Course in poor shape.
This course needs a lot of TLC! Tee boxes are in rough shape. Greens were horrible, couldn't get a true roll if my life depended on it. I wasn't happy that I paid $36 to play (and that was a hot deal!) The only good thing was the course pamphlet they give you. If there was as much work put into the course as the pamphlet I would definitely play again. Sorry Apollo, you aren't getting my greens fee twice, one and done!
Good course for the cost
Nice course, friendly people. All in all good value for the money.
Pleasurable round
I was paired up with 3 other Golfnow players (only 2 knew one another). We had a great time.
