needs TLC
Just an average course. Lots of water makes it more difficult from the back 2 sets of tees. Greens were pretty good. Overall condition was o.k. and I realize we had a lot of rain that made it hard to take care of the course
fun track but needs attention
I enjoyed the layout , but spent 3 or 4 straight holes without playing a shot off of grass. Would be worth 10 bucks but 25 is steep with such great courses inside a 25min drive.
Goat Farm
Worst conditioned GC in Tampa Bay area that I have played. Forced to play preferred lies as fairways are dirt. Normally I will use 2-3 Tees per round.....broke "18" Tees today the place was so baked out.....and this is the rainy season. Gave 5 stars for pace of play as nobody else on course....now I know why. If you see a coupon to play this place for FREE.....pass it up! Played here because of course designer....if he saw it today he would roll over in his grave...........
Even the golf cart was filthy......friendly staff.
Enjoybale course to play
Course has some work to be done. It can be a very challenging course with lots of water and trees. Enjoyable place to play with a staff that is super friendly and accomadating.
surprised
Last time I played this course was in 1970. It was a dried out desert, fairways were terrible but it was cheap back then. Here I am 44 years later and I was hit with the wow factor. They made the greens bigger and better. Fairways looked great and very playable. They had had a lot of rain so the greens were a bit slow but not a problem. I tip my hat to the grounds superintendent. He and his crew have done a great job.
Lot's of water!
Lot's of water so bring couple of extra sleeves of balls.
Greens are decent. Fairways need work.
Greens are in decent shape, a little slow on the front then much faster on the back which caused some added strokes. Fairways need some work, a few large bare areas, weeds, mixed grass, etc. Near the greens in the fairway we were often chipping from St. Augustine/Carpet Grass/weeds, though it was mowed tight. Decent value for the money with GolfNow Discount but would not pay full price. No cart service on Sunday morning. Plenty of cold water available.
apollo beach
the coarse is in great condition. I golf there quite often but it is getting to be very slow play it took over 2 1/2 hours for 2 people to finish 9 holes. the people in front of us had no golf ethics what so ever at least one of the 4 took on average of 8 or more shoots per hole which is fine I remember when I was that bad but you have to allow faster players to play thru and with no range on the coarse it gets very aggravating which throws off your own game
Nice track
I have played this course back when the greens were a little more challenging, greens were faster and broke more. They are a lot slower than.most other courses in the area. Might be that way due to the members not wanting a faster green in my opinion. Other than that I enjoyed the course
Great Course !!!
This course is fun and challenging to any skill level. Water is in play on many holes. Greens are in very good shape and improvements continue. Staff is working hard on the fairways.
Staff in the pro shop and snack shop are always friendly!!!! They make you feel at home and always welcome.
Course needs work
Course is in pretty bad shape. Several holes had been changed because of terrible course condition. I had played here a while back and had hoped the course issues were solved but they have not.
Most improved in bay area
This course was in a very poor state for several years. Don't know if the ownership changed or what but it is much improved. They are still making improvements so there are a few things to "play around" but overall it's a nice track. Lots of water, you must stay in the fairway!
This course is laid out very well.
Beautifully laid course with problems on two different holes (1 and 15). If these holes can fixed up this course would rate a 4.5.
Get what you pay for
Having moved to this area from Orlando, maybe I'm spoiled? Only paying $14 to play, I wasn't expecting much, and that's exactly what you get here...very boring course, with poor to average conditions...but, for $14 is ok for practice.
Good round
Not informed of temporary green and fairway under repair. Overall enjoyed the round once the slow group in front of us so we could play and not wait on every hole. Have a tee time for this weekend.
Good at that price
Greens were plush and freshly cut, but they were cut long making puts tough to gauge. Fairways were nicely trimmed, but very weedy, with more than a fair share of tree limbs, brush and piles of palm fronds about. Many weeds on the course, but it was surprisingly clean (very little litter). Paired up with a nice married couple and another single (same name as me) and had a very nice day of golf. Just be warned... don't be afraid of all the water hazards.
my second preferred
This was my first time, will play here once a month at least
Course better this time
I played the course for the second time this year and greens and fairways were much better this time out.
Course in better shape
Greens were in better shape than I've seen them in sometime. Even the fringes were much improve.
Keep up the progress and improvement
Great community course
The staff are just fantastically nice people. At the snack bar you must try the Banana nut bread, homemade as several of the items offered are. This is a Trent Jones so no question the layout is fun. The condition is not fantastic but not bad either. This course is on the Bay and salt water intrusion and in the air I'm sure makes a difficult job of maintaining the grass. But they have a full time staff that keeps after it. A little pricey for a non country club course.
